East Midlands Outlet, as it’s now known, is easily accessible from j28 of the M1. It has a large range of discount stores, although some, such as Game, are no cheaper than their High St branches. There are lots of shops at this outlet but seem to be all selling the same kinds of things, mainly sports wear and shoes, so shopping is limited depending on what you are after. There are no DVD shops at all. Parking is plentiful although at times it appears full due to people parking on pavements etc, this is due to the laziness of customers rather than actual lack of space. There is also an easily accesible bus stop close by.

This is quite small compared to some of the others. It has a small selection of shops but I can t say I find myself going here much. Most of the stores like ot think they are designer shops, and the prices reflect this. It is also situated quite far away from the town center so it is not possible to get here without a car, or it i very awkward to say the least. My opinion — stick to the town center and dont bother!

Sadly this is a pretty poor effort from Macarthur Glen. Unlike some they own, this is very small, and the shop selection is not that great either. I like the Sole Trader outlet store, but thats about it. Its a forgottable place, with no real character or purpose. The Lakeside outlet in Doncaster is sadly just as bad, so this is the best in the area — but thats not saying much. It really needs a large scale expansion, as its location and premise is great — its just not been done very well. Time for a refurb and expansion if that option is available to them.

i usually go to the shopping centre like this one in cheshire oaks as its huge, i was quite disapointed with this one as its so much smaller and not many unique shops like cheshire oaks. its ok if your just browsing, you mite pick something up for a good price, but for more specific things its not so good.

Great place to just chill and do a bit of shopping. would be better if it had a larger range of shops though.

This is a brilliant outlet, right on our doorstep so we’re frequent visitors! Has a good selection of shops including M&S, Next, Gap, Clarks, Thorntons(yum!) and Cadbury(even yummier!). The food court has recently been updated and is now much more bright and airy, although the franchises are a bit restricted for choice and there’s nowhere that just sells a cuppa and has a nice selection of cakes except Thorntons. Good value for money and great on a Sunday afternoon if you just want a bit of retail therapy. During the Summer they do have special events for children where characters(eg. Noddy, Fifi and the Flowertots) turn up — you’d need to check with them for dates/times etc.

I love this plae, it is about ½ and hr drive from where my boyfriends family are based so when we go and visit we have to pop it. Its called a designer outlet but I would say they are more highstreet that designer ie next, gap, m&s but they have a few designer too like Jäger. Best to check the website before you go. I always leave with bags full of things espically from next(which I dont normally shop in but at £4 for some trousers I cant say no)

I have been to Mcarthur Glen, East Midlands Designer Outlet many times before and usually am able to get what I want from the selection of shops they have there. A great place to spend a couple of hours shopping and to perhaps grab a bite to eat in the food court which has recently expanded, a pretty good choice in there, my own favourite being Subway but theres also such things as Harrys Ramsdens, Burger King and Spud-U-Like but to name a few. Also there are toilets in the food hall and also in the area where two cash machines are. There is also substantial parking which is good as it can get very busy. So all round a thumbs up on the amenities front. Now on to the shops themselves, no dissappointment there either really my favourites are the Adidas shop, Cadburys shop, Game and Zavvi but theres a bit of something for everyone with M & S, Suits You, Soled Out, Next Clearance, Clarks, Revlon and the list goes on. The only reason I have given this a four star rating instead of five is that although what they offer is of a high quality you do not have the quantity that a major shopping centre would give you such as Westfield or Meadowhall. That said still worth visiting for a change of shops/scenery.
