We only saw this national park from the car and roadside stops, but there’s much more to enjoy once you get off the road. We took a counterclockwise loop from Inverary to Tyndrum, on A83, A82(stunning drive along the shores of Loch Lomond), A81, A84, and A85. AT Aberfoyle, we detoured along the smaller A821 past two picturesque lochs. A short side trip to Balquhidder brought us to Rob Roy’s grave and a pleasant waterfall walk at the edge of this tiny storybook village. Even just from the highways, the scenery is magnificent.

1. By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braes, Where the sun shines bright on Loch Lomond. Where me and my true love were ever wont to gae On the bonnie, bonnie banks O’ Loch Lomond. Refrain: O ye’ll tak’ the high road and I’ll tak’ the low road, An’ I’ll be in Scotland afore ye; But me and my true love will never meet again On the bonnie, bonnie banks O’ Loch Lomond. 2. ‘Twas there that we parted in yon shady glen, On the steep, steep side O’ Ben Lomon’, Where in purple hue the Hieland hills we view, An’ the moon comin’ out in the gloamin’ Refrain 3. The wee birdies sing and the wild flow’rs spring, And in sunshine the waters are sleepin’; But the broken heart it kens nae second spring, Tho’ the waefu’ may cease frae their greetin’. Refrain

Really lovely area, nice park and loads of stuff to do. Its also very easy to get to the south side! Possibly a boat trip? And of course a lot of nature around it

Steeped in history and beauty this is a place you must visit when in Scotland. The loch has plenty of water sports to try out, like canoeing. There are plenty of walks and nice spots beside the loch to have a wee picnic. There is a fairground and some rides for the kids to enjoy. If you desire the resturaunt is superb. The food is great. Great for all the family young and old alike. Go on give it a go…

Loch Lomond has got to be one of the most stunning parts of Scotland i have ever seen. Around the loch there are lots of caravan sites but if you enjoy wild camping sitting around a camp fire there are one or two places you can find. As it is not far from Stirling, Edinburgh or Glasgow you can find plenty to do, but sometimes the best thing is sitting by your tent just yards from the loch with a glass of wine and the person you love! Either way it is really a fantastic place to get away from it all. OOps sorry just realized this is for the headquarters! I meant the loch itself but i guess you figured that bit out! sorry x
