Whilst a picturesque capital, stunning rugged scenery and general high standards of accommodation make Scotland a popular tourist destination, this shop on Loch Lomond Shores sums up for me how it’s never going to be a sexy tourist destination.
If it’s shoes for the catwalk, the nightclub, or the boardroom you’re after, then it’s not going to be your place. Shoes for the coach trip, sewing circle, or funeral are however far more numerous. They come in brown, grey, beige or shoe-​colour.
It’s a very big shoe shop, and caters almost entirely for pensioners. Not my thing just now but in a few decades’ time when I’m in need of a comfy pair of lace-​ups, I’ll be straight in my Nissan Micra and on the road to Catherine Kinloch.
