Tomfoolery at 34

My friend has been here loads and suggested this place for a spot of Sunday brunch. After seeing the pictures he sent of the interior I couldn’t wait.
To explain — it’s like a crazy 80’s/movie mash up with amazing chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Pretty much my wacky idea of heaven.
We decided on splitting some fried pickles (totally delicious) before our main courses. I went with the brisket sandwich (it has a really cool name, but I forget) on sourdough with pickles, cheese and Russian dressing. It was so good I think it made my friend jealous. He went for the waffles with fried chicken, poached egg and maple syrup. His assessment — more chicken, no egg (swap for bacon) and crispier waffles would have made it perfect.
We were stuffed, but had spied the cake counter downstairs, so we decided to get a couple of slices of cake to take away with us for later (also very delicious).
All in the food was pretty good, but a few finishing touches could have made it really great!

So the best thing about this place is the décor.
The food is good, not very good. If you want a burger in Alderly Edge then pop in. The cakes look great. The coffee was milky. Didn’t taste of coffee.
So overall. Average needs to be a bit better.
