Expectations were high as I decided on this location since a previous review said it’s the best steak he had in Aberdeen, even better than in Argentina. That’s saying something as I have been on a personal mission to find the best steak in the world as I travel(and have enjoyed a fantastic Argentinian steak myself). So I knew ahead of time what I was going to order. It’s a very unique restaurant, well laid out and I understand it gets quite busy. The staff is very friendly and they take pride in their food and wine selection. It was a slow night for them, and they made the night special for me. It was a joy to sit [alone] at the table and soak in the atmosphere and ambiance. Service was impeccable. To be honest, the food I had was a bit lackluster though. I had the ribeye and I think the issue was that it was apparently a choice cut of steak, not prime. It was cooked perfectly, but being choice was just not very flavorful. Next time, I will likely do one of the filet selections. Or maybe the seafood. Was the meal super-fantastic? no. Was the wine fun and varied? yes. Was the décor awesome and inviting? yes. Will I be back? yes. Hats off to the staff and their operation. I enjoyed my time there and will be back for at least a glass of wine… or 3.

My favourite restaurant in Aberdeen. Very pricey, but worth every penny. It does steak and it does it well. It can get very busy midweek, but the cocktail menu helps you waste time working up an appetite. I had the fillet steak cooked bleu both times. Aberdeen is the best place I’ve eaten steak, second only to Argentina. Impeccable service and decent lobster too. Havent wandered too far from the signature section of the menu. You’re looking at £40pph for starter and main.

Returned here again following a long absence and I would that it has improved yet again. Prices are high but I would definitely say that the food is worth every penny. Would high recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I came here recently for a close friend’s birthday treat, and even though my eyes watered and I had to take a deep breath once I saw the prices, it was absolutely worth the money. I decided to have the scallops and truffle risotto to start, while my friends had the stovies(turns out Aberdeen stovies are better than Weegie stovies). The scallops were full of flavour and perfectly cooked, and I also loved the plate and the presentation. For mains, everyone apart from the Birthday Girl had the rib-eye steak which was undoubtedly the best steak I have had in a long time, and everyone agreed. The trick is that they leave the steak to rest for a few minutes so it’s not absolutely roasting hot on your plate, and it certainly makes a difference. The Birthday Girl opted for the Surf n Turf and she absolutely raved about it. To finish I had the toffee apple pie which was, as expected, absolutely delicious. The others raved(are you sensing a theme here?) about their Baked Alaska and cheeseboard. All in all, we could not have asked for a more delicious, top quality food. The only niggle I had was the price of a glass of white or rose wine, which only came in 175ml glasses for the price of a large glass in Glasgow, so this is where my pockets drew the line and I shared the(pricey) Rioja with the others. Absolutely perfect for that special treat — but make sure your pockets are well lined.

Absolutely recommend Prime Cuts. Pea soup was delish… roasted chicken and veggies was as savoury as could be. Adequate wine list and a really nice compact menu with lots of interesting starters and only about 8 main entrée selections. White linen and well lit — unlike a lot of steak houses. Check out the wood floors — nice. We had no reservations. They asked. No problem — immediate seating.

First off, make a reservation as we tried to go on a Tuesday night and Prime Cuts was booked all night so made one for Thursday evening and was seated immediately. Service was very good and the staff was nice, friendly and attentive. Good service. No Guinness, but it’s not really a Guinness kind of place. Ordered the lobster bisque and it was very good. Then, two identical 8oz filets with the veggies that came with them. My companion raved about her bisque and filet and while my bisque was exceptional, my filet was not worth the reaction she was having. Since she had a small appetite I got to taste a piece of her filet and found out why. Hers was much better than the one I got. Rarer, but also seemed to be a better filet in general. Mine seemed a bit tough while hers was as one would expect a filet. I’m sure I just got a dud and that this is not the norm as I said earlier, this place is booked solid even in the beginning of the week and it is a nice place and a pleasant experience to go there.
