Interesting pub serving cask beer (real ale) but nothing super interesting really. Food menu looked ok but they had stopped serving by the time we’d entered.
The building itself is quite cool, and the split level nature is interesting. Nice enough place but nothing awe-​inspiring.

Service was excellent, they had the most attentive and joyful staff and food was good. It took a while for us to get our food but that was because it was really full and busy. However, I did notice that if you sat in the front, the smell from the toilet can be overwhelming. Better ventilation needed perhaps? Overall, it was a good pub grub.

Nice traditional pub with brick walls and Tudor wood ceilings. Even has a patio. Located in the corner of King and Union streets in Aberdeen. They have a Celtic jam on Thursday nights. The food is pretty good. I’d say a notch above the usual fare. Decent size but long with two levels.

If you are looking for a downtown Aberdeen Pub this is a great choice. They are located right on the central market square, have a good food and beer menu, and have music on Thursday (folk) and Saturday (acoustic).

Old Blackfriars is a nice wee, cosy pub offering a variety of cask ales and beers on draught. Being in Aberdeen City centre there aren’t a huge choice of traditional pubs around so this is a nice change to all the fancy dan style bars in town. Tourists will be impressed with the glass stained windows, fireplaces, wooden furniture and whiskey selection that for sure.
Although a bit «chain-​y», the pub has a fairly nice rustic feel to it. Staff are really nice and the food portions decent.

Probably the best pub for food in Aberdeen at the moment. It has a couple of excellent ales available and the staff are welcoming. Not sure how I would feel coming here for just a drink as I have never done that since the Prince of Wales (POW) down the road is much better in both selection and atmosphere.

Lovely pub, comfy and warm and cosy!
Can be difficult to get a table — especially on a match day but is worth the wait. Food is traditional pub grub but always good. Real ales and nice wines.

The Old Blackfriars is at the well known castle gate in Aberdeen. I’ve always thought it had quite a gothic feel to it providing a good deal of character whatever the age.
It is over two levels and serves delicious food that would suit anyones needs no matter the age. Their breakfast menu is especially nice, the full scottish breakfast is fantastic and is about £6 including juice. Definately worth every penny.
They have some good guest ales to compliment the wide variety of other drinks available. Would give this 9 out of 10 for originality. It is popular with every age and you can even dine there with a young family.

Great pub. Nice food, great beer and always a really good atmosphere.
Its one of these pubs that are nice to in on a sunday night and enjoy a drink and a chat. Also its close to the cinema so its good for a pre show drink.
