I am sure that some of you will have seen Mr Beans skid about the Indian restaurant … it goes like this …(it is an act for Mr Bean only) Bean is the restaurant owner and a group of really drunk guys drop in for a bite and start ordering … I will cut a long(but hilarious) story short … Bombay duck … with a D he iterates at one order … papadams with yoghourt and sh… he repeats … Anyway … this kind of scene was happening at the Blue Moon restaurant the night I was there. From a serene and quiet atmosphere the whole place changed into soccer stadium after a won match. The food was good but because of this group there was no attention for us whatsoever. No apologies … no nothing … just bad service!

Nice & clean enough — but not the best Indian food I’ve had, for sure. I would give it another shot though.

I really like the Blue Moon. So much I went there two times in a week. Not because the food was the best I’ve ever had, though it was quite good, but because it is in a convenient location and is open late and for some reason coming from the California time zone with the light Aberdeen summer night skies my clock was off and I found myself going out for dinner at 10 pm many nights. The service was quite good as well. Highly recommended.

An Indian restaurant without the sitar music and ubiquitous Indian restaurant décor. The food, however, is the real deal as is the Kingfisher beer.

Blue Moon is an Indian restaurant and take away on Holburn Street. The restaurant is fairly small and can get quite crowded and busy but the food makes up for this. The food is modern Indian food and is very highly flavoured and very very tasty. They do all the usual Indian favourites but there are also unusual items too — can recommend the haggis pakora! Another favourite is the tandoori, especially the fish. It is always cooked to perfection and comes with spicy sauce and rice. The food is excellent and it is the same menu for take away or for the restaurant so I do prefer to take away, this way I get all the fab food without the over crowded restaurant and the wine mennu is quite pricey. Parking would be difficult on Holburn Street and you will have to pay to park. The prices here are very resonable for the quality of food, however, like I mentioned the drinks are quite pricy.
