Restaurante o Pescador

Always a good recommendation for first timers in Lajes/​Praia de Vitoria. They have been around for decades and offer such staples as Steak on a Rock or my favorite, the Wreckfish. All in all it’s a good place to grab a bite near the bar area close to the marina. I think their quality has suffered as of late, but Pescador is still a required stop on any trek to the Portuguese Isles. Service is ok and everyone speaks Americano. Enjoy!

The restaurant moved a block down from their previous location, they are now right across the marina. It is on a second floor with a nice view, and is nicely decorated. Service was very friendly, fast and attentive. I had the steak with egg which was great, especially considering the price. You can’t go wrong with this restaurant while on Terceira.

Would say this is 3.5 stars for my first visit.
I had their highly recommended steak on a rock, and apparently the delivery this time was different than the past according to my new buddies. Apparently, they used to come out with the steak on the toasty slab (not rounded rock like I pictured it…) of rock. This time, the raw meat was on the side and you can cook the meat. The meat quality was good, but not much flavouring. I sprinkled sea salt on the meat while cooking and that was tastey.
Wasn’t a big fan of the sauces with the steak, tasted too much like seafood condiments. I’ve come to the conclusion, I don’t like the fries on the island, it all tastes like it was fried in old oil.
And going backwards, the appetizers (that you need to pay for) were good. They gave soft and toasted bread, cheese, and tuna! All very yummy!
Service was slow (like most of the island), food was made to order, wait staff friendly, and helpful with wine choices!
Likely to be back and try other things, hopefully increase the stars, but for the price and first meal, 3.5

Es el restaurante con fama de la localidad. Personalmente me parece un sitio normalito, algo caro para la calidad de la comida
