Incredible pork sandwich with soft cheese — add to that friendly staff, a sparkling Rose and a great atmosphere… the perfect place to be on a wet and cold Monday night.

Um tasco português bem típico! Não perder as sandes de pernil e sandes de pernil com queijo da serra. Uma delicia!

Sympa cette petite adresse tout à fait typique, et «comme par hasard» située tout près de l’appart où l’on logeait ;-) plutôt pratique en cette saison pluvieuse !
Le bar occupe discrètement le coin d’une petite place, et dispose d’une terrasse, mais cette semaine-​ci, la météo né se prêtait pas vraiment à une petite séance de bronzette. Ce n’est pas plus mal, comme ça on est au coeur de l’animation du lieu à l’intérieur, c’est plutôt sympa.
On passé sa commande, et si on a de la chance, on trouve une petite place assise à table ou le long du bar, l’endroit est beaucoup fréquenté, à la fois par les locaux et par des touristes.
La spécialité de la maison, c’est la viande de porc grillée…ooooooolàlàlà, que c’était bon… Ils passent leur temps à découper ces énormes cuisses de porc, grillées et cuites à souhait; et aussi le fromage portugais des montagnes bien coulant, pour vous en faire des sandwichs. Mais que c’est booooooooooooon !
Quand on est raisonnable, avec une petite soupe maison du jour, c’est parfait comme repas «pas trop lourd» comme dîner.
Mais il faut avouer que l’idée d’un 2ème petit sandwich est bien tentante… (c’est vrai, ils né sont pas très gros quoi, et quand on a bien marché… :))

Simply amazing. Only suggestion– don’t be the annoying person who butts into everyone’s personal space just so they can see the menu. Just get the amazing sandwich everyone else is eating and take it outside.

This is a really good sandwich joint. Several choices, some with one topping, others with two. € 2.9 and € 3.9 respectively. I tried pork with Parma ham, pork with cheese, and pork with… One other type of meat. One time a piece was a tad dry, but all the other sandwiches were totally yum.
I highly recommend adding the hot sauce if you like your food spicy. I made my sandwiches nice and picante!

Roasted pork with cheese sandwich was outstanding! Along with the caldo verde and a beer, the cost was only 7 euros. I went at 2:00pm and the wait was very short.

La interminable espera, merece la pena. Tras una media hora haciendo fila en la calle, el servicio va rodado. Excelente bocadillo de pernil asado con queso de la sierra que rebosa jugo del asado del propio jamón. Lo mejor, degustarlo desde la barra, para ver el espectáculo del propietario (o encargado) cortando el jamón asado. También hay raciones de casquería, como las mollejas, que están bastante buenas. El bocadillo cuesta 3,90 € y las mollejas 3 €, lo que resulta bastante económico.

A must when in Porto! We liked them without cheese, only € 2.90 per sandwich. Go around 5 – 6 pm as it does get crowded and long line after this time. Great restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. They close on Sunday.

Small mom & pop type shop run by the same people every day. I know because we came here 3 times in our 4 days in Porto! It’s easy to find. Follow the long queue that goes out the door.
Slow roasted (whole pig) pork. Soft, creamy, tangy mountain sheep cheese. That’s it. Simple sandwich but absolutely delectable. If you’re lucky, he’ll put some roasting juices on the sandwich as well.
This makes for a great lunch or an afternoon snack paired with their beer or wine. Very affordable as well.

Délicieux petit sandwich d’épaule de porc avec du fromage dans un pain de campagne, le seul bémol pour moi est la taille car si j’avais su j’en aurais commandé deux car si on était la commande numéro 1 de la journée, quelques minutes après il y avait la queue dehors!
3,90 € avec fromage ou 2,90 € sans, possibilité de manger sur places (quelques tables) et petite terrasse, wifi gratuit mais il faut demander le mot de passé.
Pour les amateurs de sandwich c’est un passage obligé si vous visitez Lisbonne.

A falta de higiene e o atendimento são claros pontos fracos e pode ser melhorada a qualidade do pão também. Os preços estão adequados.

I think it lives up to the name and it’s hype (both the good and the bad). It’s self service with outdoor patio seating probably like 15 or so tables and a few inside. We grab seats after placing our meals. Everyone got something different. They offer a cheese only option for vegetarians and they have fried fish and some actual entrees. My crew ordered the traditional with pork and cheese, the black sausage and a chorizo like sausage. All sandwiches were served on a warm crusty baguette. We paired this with a bottle of the house vino verde and people watched in the sun. They did pick up around 12:30 and there was a line wrapped around the building when we left. I would suggest getting the sandwiches to go and maybe eating at the park across the street if the weather permits.

Alors la, on touché à quelque chose! Petite terrasse tranquille, bonne bouteille de rosé pétillant maison (6 €), plat de porc cuit à la brésilienne et poisson frit (interminable) et pour couronner le tout un service vraiment bon! L’addition est la surprise, 23 € pour être gavé avec de la nourriture de qualité et du bon rosé! J’aime!

As sandes de pernil são excelentes e os donos extremamente simpáticos.
Tornou-​se uma casa muito frequentada e com mérito mas no entanto e derivado à divulgação tornou-​se mais demorado o atendimento.

This place was incredible, it was like a mom and pop place, very old décor. Obviously their quality is what is making them famous. My boyfriend and I were staying in an airbnb apartment adjacent to this little restaurant, and always there was a line going out the door and down the street. They have various sandwiches on a wholegrain round bread, their slow roasted pork is to die for, I opted for the slow roasted pork with mountain sheep cheese, incredible. I like to think of myself as a well traveled foodie, this rich taste was something truly unique.

Super good pork sandwiches and delicious vinho Verde. Very nice to sit on the terrace and enjoy a good meal! Prices are very reasonable.

A Casa Guedes já é antiga (as instalações não enganam), mas foi uma descoberta recente dos «gourmets» do Porto. Isto só para explicar a imensa fila à porta, para se comer uma sandes de pernil.
Vale a pena? Bem, não é dos sítios mais confortáveis para se estar com um grupo de amigos, nem é o local perfeito para um «date», mas a sandes é mesmo muito saborosa, ainda que tenha só experimentado a mais básica (o upgrade levava um naco enorme de queijo da Serra e o meu fígado teve medo). O staff também não é propriamente simpático, mas pode dizer-​se que faz parte da experiência.
Quanto a limpeza, não contem com um sítio impecável, mas, ei, isto é uma tasca a abarrotar de gente. Pega num guardanapo e limpa a tua própria mesa!
No geral, posso dizer que é uma experiência a repetir. A Casa Guedes é um sítio castiço e bastam aquelas sandochas de pernil para nos fazer querer voltar.

Bem, já é a segunda vez que lá vou e parece que as sandes de pernil com queijo da serra estão cada vez melhores! O que dizer sobre esta tasca no Porto?! Tem um cardápio algo variado, mas na minha opinião o melhor são mesmo as sandes de pernil com queijo! São pequenas e um pouco caras para a quantidade, mas vale cada cêntimo, pois são mesmo boas! As sobremesas também são muito boas, sendo de destacar a típica mouse de chocolate e o o queijo da serra com doce de abóbora. Recomendo vivamente a quem vai ao Porto, nem que seja de passagem.

Voted like one of the most typical place in Porto, «Casa Guedes» offers the best sandwiches (SANDES) of the city. The place is very rustic and the food is homemade. I suggest the «Sande de Pernil» (Sandwich of roasted pork with sauce). It isn’t a place for lovers of fine cuisine or total hygiene, but it is highly recommended to anyone who wants to know the heart of Porto.

Perfect mix of warm hot bread, juicy roasted pork, and ripe flavorful cheese. I wish I could eat there every day!
Nothing fancy, just tasty sandwinches. Get a few to go, or stay for the green wine!
