So good. So very, very good. This was recommended to us by our hotel and it was absolutely delicious. Known for their seafood dishes, they also make their own cheese here. OWNCHEESE. And they brought out the Iberico Ham leg at one point. I was in heaven. After eating too much of the meat, cheese, olives, and fresh-baked bread they brought out, we chose main courses of grilled pork and a lobster-tomato-rice dish that were both delicious. Overall, the experience was great. The service was wonderful, you could tell it was a local favourite, and the food was simply divine. Truly would put this down as one of the best experiences!

This restaurant was filled with wealthy locals and some tourists. Based on reviews from other Unilocalers, I decided not to take any of the appetizers on the table. Since my mom and I were planning on heading to Ramiro’s afterwards for fresh seafood, we only ordered 2 entrees and a dessert. The first few bites of the goat were tender and pretty flavorful. However, I felt like the dish was a little too meaty and portions of the goat meat was dry. I started off really liking it but it got old fast. The lobster and shrimp rice was ok. The lobster and shrimp didn’t taste particularly fresh and honestly, I feel like I could’ve executed that dish in my own kitchen. We ordered the chocolate meringue for dessert which was nothing special. The food was average overall but dining at the restaurant was a great experience. The restaurant feels classic and the service is great. I would say this is a must try for anyone’s first visit to Lisbon!

Solid choice. Good food and decent value if you reject the starters they leave on the table. Service was barely adequate definitely felt rushed and inattentive

One of my favourite places in Lisbon to go to! Before you even taste the food you will be awed by the interior of the restaurant, it’s a sophisticated family style restaurant. The seafood is fresh and accompanied with bold Flavours! A must try is the arroz de marisco, and the Prawns! Accompany all this with fresh glass of Portuguese vinho verde!

Spectacular place. Busy, crowded, and wonderful wonderful food. Be careful, the appetizers all over the table are charged to you if you eat them, so choose carefully and have them take the others away. I had grilled octopus, best I’ve ever had. My wife’s grouper was super, but full of bones, as it was a steak, not a filet. Appetizer, two entrees, one dessert and water plus wine was EUR85. Fair enough. All in all, a 10⁄10.

Pros: 1. Excellent food and service 2. Wide range of wine 3. They speak good English 4. Accept foreign credit cards 5. They entertain kids well Cons: Nothing Overall: A must try. The owner used to be the chef of Portugal national football team so the interior of the restaurant is remarkably good.

So disappointed! We were seated on the second floor– in the middle of 4 tables of 2 each very clse to each other. Unfortunately we had terrible service– it seemed as if no waiter was assigned our table. Waiters were taking care of others in every direction and we were forgotten. Finally we flagged one down and asked if he was our waiter– he said he could be! It didn’t really improve. A bright note was that our table neighbors were lovely people and we had some pleasant conversations with them. We had the seafood rice which was ok but not delicious and the grouper which I would not recommend if you know how delicious it can taste. Our dining experience was very poor– it felt like we were in a factory with the food thrown at us and it was not worth the price of over 80 euros.

What an fantastic place !! I sure wish there was a 6th star !! We had the black rice for two which was awesome. However there were so many different dishes that passed us by on the way to other tables. We can back here many times for sure. A do not miss !!

When in Lisbon, make sure you visit this classic of Portuguese traditional cuisine. Try to be seated up in the second level and make sure Agostinho is in charge. A complete professional. Portugal, with miles of Atlantic Ocean coast celebrates sea food. Make sure you try octopus. The Cardoso family takes personal care of you.

Was already multiple times in this restaurant snd they are always very busy. Make sure to plan enough time. On the other hand, they are speaking English and can host a group of 20 easily. Food is very nice, fresh fish and the staff is friendly.

Busy and lively restaurant with delicious food! Frequented by both locals and tourists and I can see why. The apps at the table were all delicious and we ate them all up, and it was worth the extra cost. The seafood rice I had was delicious and the only thing I wished was that there was more. My husband got the salmon and the portion was huge! Definitely recommended, just make sure to make a reservation before hand since it gets pretty packed even on a weekday night.

Thank you Pedro and the team here. Treated like royalty after our guide Viktor made us a reservation. Great tv ale, food service and a flower and port to end the night. Delicious food where the locals and famous of Lisbon wine and dine. A must see. We had the Portuguese baked cod and split it with a green salad. Delicious is all I can say. Not to be missed

Another fabulous Lisbon restaurant with charm and character, delicious food and an excellent wine list. You cannot go wrong. I had the house special goat with potatoes and rice. Delicious! The waiter selected a perfect bottle of Portuguese red wine to accompany the delicious goat.

What a fantastic experience On a Friday night and with the restaurant completely full(3 stages) we went there to have a fantastic food experience Starting with all the starters, fresh and unique, and passing for first course and desert… If you never went there it means that you never have been in the best Portuguese food in Lisbon.

This restaurant really is a 5 star but I dropped one star only because it is cramped. Many restaurants in Lisbon are this way but in this restaurant there are several spots where it is so tight that you get bumped while sitting at your table. The food was soooooo good. Highly recommend the grilled grouper(when in season), top it with local olive oil. Delish!!! Get the chocolate meringue for dessert. You will walk away very happy.

5 Stars 5 Stars 5 Stars Restaurant Staff are so good, specially Luis Coelho, who works on the 2nd floor, he looked after us all the way. He is simply the best . We found this restaurant after seeing an article about it, so we decided to give a try. Traditional Portuguese food this restaurant is always busy, make sure to make a reservation, they don’t open on Sundays. My friend and I had mussels as starter and Luis recommended us to have only one starter to share between us because the mains would be huge… So we did, mussels were gorgeous… For main we had grilled Cod«bacalhau» and Rice with Lobster and Prawns … «Arroz com lagosta em camarão «, both main were amazing . As it was my friends bday the guys brought her some slices of kiwis with a bday candle on top of it, just a really nice touch. This place us full of celebrities and presidents, so u might see someone famous there. Price wise is so cheap comparing to the some other European countries… We spent € 60 sharp each. Cover, Starters, Mains, Dessert and a bottle of wine. Superb place!!!

This restaurant is right by the funicular, just off the main boulevard and easy walking distance from the subway. There are three storeys, all filled with customers and bustling with waitstaff. We came as a big group, and our waiter did a superb job keeping the wine flowing, the food coming, and keeping the orders straight. We don’t always touch the little appetizers restaurants in Portugal bring to the table without asking, but at this place, the cheese, bread and ham are so delicious we clean the plates. The menu is quite extensive, with focus on seafood, and a wide variety of it, it’s hard to just pick one dish. We have the black rice with seafood, octopus, and other items, and enjoy all of them. The octopus is amazingly tender, the shrimps juicy, the meat succulent. The preparation is rather straight forward, nothing fusiony, just honest, delicious and fresh food. The wine list comes on an ipad, so you get a lot of info about the wine(though some info is in Portuguese which doesn’t help me). All in all, I’d say this is the best meal we had in Lisbon!
