Olivier Avenida

Swanky swanky swanky. The large round tables against tufted banquettes, dim lighting with elegant chandeliers, and jazz simmering in the backdrop gave Olivier Avenida a romantic, intimate vibe.
We sampled the game sausage wrapped in cabbage topped with quail egg, tuna tartare, Kobe beef, a pasta dish, and a side of spinach. The bitterness of the cabbage and the buttery savoriness of the sausage and quail egg were ideal counterpoints, making these treats the perfect two bite starter. The tuna was fresh but diced avocado accompaniment was under ripe. The pasta and spinach were unmemorable.
Then there was the Kobe. Oh, that beef! It was flawlessly prepared melt in your mouth amazingness. We split this item and were going to order the large portion (500 mg), but the server steered us to the smaller version (250mg). For those of you also not on the metric system, 250 mg is 8.5 ounces. I have never had a server dissuade me from ordering an $ 89 entrée, but I’m glad she did. We devoured every morsel and were much too stuffed to even consider dessert.
All around a fantastic meal, albeit one you could get at any major city in the world. If you want an experience unique to Lisbon, go elsewhere. If you just want to get your paws on some tender, marbled, flavorful Kobe in a sultry atmosphere, OA is your spot.

Best restaurant I have EVER been to. I am very finicky with the restaurants I visit and I have been to many all over the world. This was truly a superb dining experience. Excellent wait staff working together to create the best atmosphere for dining. We arrived an hour early not realizing they opened at 20:00. The staff was gracious and let us sit at the bar and drink instead of refusing us service and telling us to return at 20:00. The many wait staff that attended us were nothing short of attentive and timely. We highly recommend, and I tried all of these dishes, the Linguini with Parmesan and Black Truffle sauce, Boneless chicken thigh marinated in miso and lime as well as the black pork with mango chutney. Often I forget about my dining experiences this one was EXTREMELY MEMORABLE! We even plan on returning to try the Picanha Kobe beef before we leave to return home! Definitely a must when visiting Lisbon!

One of the BEST restaurant experiences I’ve EVER had… the best service/​food/​drinks/​music/​atmosphere! Delicioso! I’ve been on Unilocal for over 5 years… always using others’ reviews but never leaving my own. This place was finally worthy enough to convince me to break the ice! Highly recommend the linguini with black truffle sauce, wild mushroom and asparagus risotto, and the Magret de canard with Port wine sauce (duck). Most importantly, our waitress was phenomenal!

William and the other people of their staff took very good care of us. We stayed at the hotel and had both breakfast and dinner her. Food is amazing and the service was great. We also had dessert (fondant au chocolat) and it was really good. We were not sure about what porto to order so they brought several bottles and let us try until we found the one we liked. I will
Definetely stay again at the Tivoli Hotel and i look forward to anothe great experience at Olivier.

Don’t miss the Bife Wellington. Seriously the best I have ever had. Loved the pâté that was part of the cover.

Adoro todos os restaurantes abertos pelo Olivier. A qualidade da comida, a decoração, o atendimento e a localização adequada. Das várias vezes que vim ao Olivier gosto especialmente de chegar e ter lugar para estacionar mesmo à porta. O que para uma menina de salto alto dá muito jeito. :) A diversidade dos pratos é de acordo com o normal, sem ser uma lista muito extensa. Contudo, para as crianças não é o local ideal, pois o meu primo teve algumas dificuldades em gostar do hamburger, por exemplo. Era muito alto e desadequado para a sua idade. Quanto ao resto, adoro, por exemplo a massa de camarão, é deliciosa.

Conheci o restaurante ainda no tempo em que estava na Rua do Alecrim. Há já algum tempo que se mudou para o Tivoli Jardim o que, a meu ver, lhe tirou alguma da graça. Pode parecer estúpido, mas acho que há sempre alguma coisa de estranho em entrar num hotel para comer. É como se estivesse no lugar errado para fazer a coisa certa. Lá entrei, apesar desta paranóia parva. O ambiente de luxo mantém-​se. É caro, muito caro, mas são poucos os luxos baratos. O atendimento é personalizado e atencioso, a comida é apresentada com requinte e delicadeza, convidando os olhos a comer também, e muito saborosa como não podia deixar de ser. O menu de degustação acaba por ser a melhor opção no Olivier: nove entradas e um prato à escolha da ementa. Garanto-​vos que ficarão satisfeitos e, se a tiverem, acabam com a ideia de que comida elaborada significa pouca comida. Se preferirem escolher através da ementa, aconselho o carpaccio de novilho e o linguini com camarão. A decoração mantém algum do ambiente do antigo lugar, ficando clara a tentativa de continuidade do projecto. A mim, pelo simples facto de ser num hotel, não me convenceu. Continuo a achar, como antes, que alguns preços são demasiado caros apenas para acompanhar a fama do restaurante. Ainda assim, a qualidade da comida manté-​se e, num restaurante como o Olivier, não há maior soberania que a do sabor.

Gostei imenso de ir Jantar ao Olivier, apenas consegui ir lá uma vez, e ainda era na rua do Alecrim. A comida era fantástica com um toque de requinte elevadíssimo, mas o preço é elevado para o dia a dia. É um espaço excelente para uma ocasião especial.
Registei com agrado que o Olivier tenha vindo à mesa perguntar se estávamos a gostar e de resto, a equipa de profissionais que nos serviu foi duma simpatia digna de registo.
Tenho pena que não possa ir já conhecer o novo espaço na avenida da liberdade, mas tenho muita vontade…
