At the end of a long hall of stairs there is a tiny bar and café. The menu is handwritten on white paper sheets, one paper per item, and put on their window for people passing by to see. We took one of their set menus, fried bacalhau, salad, beer and coffee for 5 € per person, and sat out under a big tree where they had put out two tables. A very obvious family business. The father greeted us, took our orders and served the food. The mother prepared the food. And the son, wearing a heavy metal t-shirt, was setting up colorful balloons between the little restaurant and the big tree to prepare for the sardines celebration(it was the Sao Antonio day) later that day. He also had a grill where he grilled some sardines for the family. Cozy, simple & cute.
