Best bifanas I have ever had. The place was so cozy and everyone seemed to know each other. I ordered 2 thinking I would save one for later. They were so good that I ended eating both. Highly recommended and super cheap.

Recentemente voltei à Casa das Bifanas para um almoço a meio da tarde. Como estava muito calor resolvi ficar na esplanada que é super agradável em plena praça da Figueira.
Embora a especialidade da casa sejam as bifanas, eu escolhi o Pica-​Pau de vaca que estava bom e saboroso. O pão não estava mau e, como era de esperar, desapareceu com o molho do pica-​pau.
A esplanada estava cheia e isso fez que o atendimento fosse um pouco mais demorado, o que até certo ponto é compreensível. Enquanto esperava e, mesmo durante o almoço, ia deliciando-​me com a conversa da mesa do lado. Uma mesa cheia de mulheres, determinadas, a falarem sobre política na Guiné Bissau. Adorei…
Quando fui pagar resolvi ir à casa de banho lavar as mãos… Lambuzei-​me um pouco com o molho do pica-​pau… E confesso que não conseguiria fazer mais nada ali que não fosse mesmo só lavar as mãos… Estava um pouco mau, não só devido ao forte odor, como à limpeza em si… Em dias com muita clientela tem de existir uma preocupação redobrada com a higiene da casa de banho.
Mantenho as três estrelas apenas e só pelo pica-​pau e pelas senhoras da Guiné Bissau.

The bifana was okay but they had this dish that we saw the locals eat that was very tasty. It is chicken gizzard with pickled vegetables. We also tried their snails that was interesting too. We also liked the fact that no one is standing in front of the restaurant asking you to come it.

I’ll be honest, we had a super long day of travel and I had high expectations for the bifana based on the other Unilocal reviews.
Sadly, it lacked for me. It was nice to sit outside in the square, but the flavor wasn’t there.
If you need a quick, late-​night snack, go for it, but be sure to ask for the sauces!

Perfekt für ein rasches, preiswertes und leckeres Mittagessen! Freundliche Kellner, Auswahl an Speisen ausreichend. Genau das Richtige, um eine kurze Rast bei der Stadterkundung einzulegen.

Vu le nom du resto j’ai pris deux bifanas, déjà ils né sont pas indiqués sur le menu alors que vu le nom on penserait que c’est le plat roi et je né les ai pas aimés.
J’ai trouvé la viande beaucoup trop épaisse, grasse et sèche, aucune sauce il faut la rajouter et le pain style de campagne pareil je n’ai pas accroché.
Mon copain a mangé une dorade qu’il a trouvé bonne c’est pour ça que je mets trois étoiles car pour ma part je n’ai pas apprécié mon repas.
Pour info on a pas mal tourné pour trouver le resto il est en fait situé sur une grande place juste à côté de la bouche de métro Rossio.

I discovered this place by smell. It drew me in. It’s a typical Portuguese café but the Bifanas were really good. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks so.

I’ve had bifanas at at least 5 different places in Lisbon. This was my favorite! Large chunks of perfectly seasoned meat on soft delicious buns. The snails we got as an appetizer were great too and the cerveja was cheap! It’s in a great location if you want to stop by the cathedral or some of the other monuments are nearby. Very friendly and quick service, great outdoor seating, definitely worth a visit!

Average restaurant, crowded inside but better outside. Calamary was frozen and there were pidgeons all the time surrounding us. Its cheap!

Finally got to try a Portuguese classic! I had the bifana and orange juice for breakfast. The bread was really soft and the fried pork was really tender. They give you sauces to add to your sandwich which I recommend doing, it gives it more flavorful.

It’s been over a month since I was here, but it’s almost like I can still taste the sandwiches from this place.
Like Tom Y, we thought that the bifanas here were so good that we went back the following day. The bifana is the perfect mix of slightly fatty pork and au jus on a fresh bun. Damn, it was so good. I remember they had some hot sauce at the counter that complemented the sandwich perfectly. And such a good value. It was 2 euros or something like that.
I’ll also second Tom Y’s opinion regarding the prego pork sandwich. We also tried it, but were disappointed. It was a tad dry and/​or overcooked.

Die Bedienung war freundlich, der Hauswein gut und günstig. Das Essen Portugiesischer Standard. Unsere Gruppe kam wegen der guten Bewertung, die ist aber unserer Meinung nach zu hoch. Die Bifanas im McD schmeckten meiner Meinung nach sogar besser als in diesem Restaurant.

I m usually pretty leery of restaurants by tourist centers because they tend to be tourist traps but this place is not.
This place is setup like your typical Portuguese café, you can get served at the tables by a waiter or stand up with the locals at the see-​thru counter. I was surprised how many locals were chowing down when I went in both times. I had ordered a bifana and a beer for a snack and I was blown away on how moist and tasty it was. I was so intrigued I ordered a prego sandwich but I was underwhelmed but back to the bifana, it was so good I went back the following day to get another one for the road.
They good through so many bifanas here they have a guy that cooks the meat as you order it and the pan it cooks in doesn’t get drained after orders so the juices keep simmering so it stays seasoned. So SIMPLE but so GOOD, MOUTH WATERING bifanas.

As melhor casa de bifanas de Lisboa na minha opinião.
Quando estou pela baixa e apetece-​me comer alguma coisa boa, barata e rápida é la que vou.
Nunca se espera muito pelas bifanas, pois estão constantemente a serem feitas.
Mais rápido que fast food e muito mais nutricional!
Está aberto quase todos os dias do ano e consegue-​se um bom preço por elas.

Não há nada melhor do que passear por Lisboa no verão. Como faço anos no verão, costumo ir com os meus amigos à casa das bifanas. É na praça da figueira, um sítio fácil de chegar e entre as bifanas caseiras e a imperial fresquinha, juntando os preços baixos, é dos melhores sítios para se jantar. No fundo é uma tasca portuguesa típica, mas não pensem que eu digo isto como uma coisa má, antes pelo contrário. Já me «safou» várias vezes quando andava por aquela zona depois de beber uns copos e me apeteceu trincar qualquer coisa saborosa.

A Casa das Bifanas tem as melhores bifanas de Lisboa. A casa é conhecida por isso, e com razão. Mas, também aqui se fazem outros pratos, muito bem servidos, por sinal. Posso acrescentar que aqui as sopas são magnificas e, em particular, a da pedra é mesmo saborosa. Com um preço simpático fazemos aqui uma excelente refeição e bem típica.
