Michael and Paola are the sweetest. This place is warm and welcoming! They make you feel at home, give you conversation, and appreciate your business. Come in here for the best mojitos and cigars in Puerto Rico! You won’t regret it :)

My daughter wanted to bring back cigars for a friend. Not having a clue as to what we were looking for, Irma was so very helpful and educational! Thanks so much!

Had my first cigar here! The employees were very nice and taught me what I needed to know. Their mojitos are also amazing! They could use some more lounging areas, but it was a good casual atmosphere and a great respite from the heat. I hope to visit again soon!

I have been visiting this cigar shop for many years. Whenever I find myself in San Juan I always drop In. I enjoy a great smoke & conversation and I love it when they give me a free shot of «Ron el Barrilito» (Great rum from Bayamon PR). So take a break from the heat and enjoy a good smoke!

Horrible experience. Bought a box, and was supposed to have another box for free on the current sale they were running. Asked for a Churchill box for the free box, but the attendant gave us a box of the cheaper Lonsdale instead. Didn’t realize it until we left the store(boxes are unmarked) and opened the box to split the cigars with my friend. Called the Owner to see if they would make things right and they didn’t. Even though it was their mistake, they refuse to exchange them. This is a tourist trap! You can get better deals elsewhere from honorable establishments.

The drinks are not gratis(sorry but it seemed implied). However the Lonsdale Rum cigar is extremely smooth & mild and goes great with either the Estrella or mojito.

Bought a cigar here on a cruise and ended up staying and having another free of charge. They also gave me a sample of a very nice rum. Really nice people who treated me really well. I plan on visiting again this February.

A year ago a friend visited San Juan and sent me a sampler of Don’s cigars as a gift. One year later I am wandering the streets of old San Juan and stumble in to Don himself. He invites me in to his little shop and offers me an excellent cigar and a shot of very good local rum. He takes some time to find out what I might like based on my usual preferences and makes a great recommendation. I have a humidor full of Toranos and his cigars are different but certainly decent tasting and the whole experience at his shop is fun and pleasant. It was like meeting an old friend in a strange town.

Let me start off by saying that I am not a cigar smoker and that I know absolutely nothing about cigars. What brought me to Don Collins was a promise I had made to purchase a coworker a Puerto Rican cigar. I stayed in Old San Juan for four days, and I saw flyers for this business throughout the district during my stay. However, I did not visit the shop until my final morning in Old San Juan. I was greeted by Don Collins himself and he impressed me with his hospitality and friendliness. Through conversation with Don Collins, we discovered that he owns a home near my neighborhood in Decatur, Georgia! Since I know nothing about cigars or my co worker’s preferences, Don Collins made choices for the purchases by asking a few questions about my coworker. The shop was small and clean with a wonderful aroma. Customer service was great and I noticed that two male customers there were smoking cigars and chatting with Don Collins like old friends. I can not comment on the quality of the product, but I can say that I enjoyed my visit and would return for future cigar runs!

When I was in service I would order the Lonsdale Rum and the Quilambo cigars for myself and for my soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. They’re a bit expensive but they are a very good smoke. The sales people at the store in Old San Juan are young and knowledgeable but act immature. There is no seating area for smoking and they have no bar. Good place if you know what you’re looking for.

My friends and I stopped in while walking around Old San Juan and wanted to purchase a cigar to smoke on out trip. The shop is very small and cozy, but it was air-conditioned(It was sweltering that day) and the rep that helped us was so friendly and knowledgable. She helped us find 2 cigars that suited our price range and other needs. She was even nice enough to cut our cigars for us! Once we got around to smoking our cigars we discovered how smooth and flavorful they were! They smoked cleanly and really held their flavor. I’ve smoked Cuban cigars before and Don Collins is very comparable. I really enjoyed the entire experience here, from chatting to our sales rep to smoking the cigar on the beach. A great place to stop if you are looking for a great cigar, at various prices and good customer service.

We bought a sample pack, our 3 friends and I cut the cigars with our Palio cutter and lit them up with my Xikar lighter. We let the cigars devlop for 5 minutes and then we all looked at each other and said these were some of the worst cigars we have ever tasted. We could have done better by going to the local Walgreens in San Juan and buying DutchMasters. The reason we went in to the cigar shop was because of the Unilocal reviews. «The cigars are top quality and have something for everyone.”-These cigars are not top quality because they are made with short fill and have a taste horrible. They do not hold ash and have an uneven burn. «Great stuff, highly recommended to any other cigar lovers that find themselves in Old San Juan.”-This is not great stuff, if you are a true cigar lover-stay away from here. «There’s no comparison in town. Stay away from the touristy shops and stop here. Glad we found this place! «This place is a tourist trap, cigars are horrible. We were very disappointed, definitely a waste of money.

Fantastic, memorable experience! My wife and I were travelling the streets of Old San Juan when we came across Don Collins. I had read some of the reviews, but WOW, what an awesome establishment! As soon as I walked in I met Don and he pleasantly introduced himself to us. He asked me what I typically enjoyed and offered me a cigar to try; it was very good. While he has a premium product, depending on how many cigars you want to buy, his prices are far below what I would expect for the quality I received. I typically enjoy Camacho, Alec Bradley, and Perdomo; Dons product tastes superior and is less expensive then the premium brands when you buy in quantity. Unfortunately my humidor is already stocked full to get me through the dry winter months of Northeast USA so I only bought a cigar sampler of five cigars for less than 8 dollars a stick(not including the awesome stick he gave me when I walked in, and larger quantities can cut that price by more than 50% of what I paid). The best part is, he picked my sampler to fit my taste: he is a brilliant businessman as he seemingly knows not to cut corners, but to provide the best product and immediately tailor to your needs; he knows if he does it well, you will be back and on his cigar list. Don and his staff are very welcoming, so if you are a novice to cigars this is a great place to stop by and ask some questions. For the occasional cigar smokers, visiting here is a must, for the regular cigar smokers, it’s mandatory! It was a fantastic experience and I thank Don for his warm hospitality.(Not sure why Unilocal flagged this review, it is legit, had a wonderful experience there)

Great experience here! We walked in pretending to know what we were talking about, but the staff was great to explain the Don Collins cigars and what we might like. We were even offered the opportunity to try a cigar(and take it with us). The cigars are top quality and have something for everyone. You may be paying a premium for a Don Collins product, but you know you’re getting something good. Thanks so much for the hospitality.

Bumped into this place by accident and so glad I did. The power was out all over the island so many stores were closed. I walked up to the front door and peered in, thinking it was closed as well. A gentleman came to the door and invited me in and engaged me in a nice friendly conversation. He asked what type of smoke I enjoy and before you know it he was getting one out and offering it me to try. Also offered up a superb tasting rum to enjoy with my stick. Both were outstanding and better yet both were on the house. I really didn’t have room for any more smokes in my humidor but after enjoying the stick he offered me I felt compelled to grab a few. Great stuff, highly recommended to any other cigar lovers that find themselves in Old San Juan.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when we strolled in Don Collin’s but right away, I realized I had stumbled upon a cigar lover’s haven. There were two gentlemen there. One was brand new and it was his first week working there. The other was a regular and was handling the management side of things. The new guy helped recommend some cigars, based on our normal choices back home, and he gave us a quick history lesson on Don Collins cigars and other products. We chatted for about an hour or so as we smoked and they threw in some freebies with our purchase. They have different«Mix and Match» options on their products here. The service was great, prices were very reasonable and the location is convenient.
