I went to Café Valencia last Friday and ordered paella. The food was but a poor shadow of its past cuisine. The paella had no shrimps on the first serving, no calamari, two mussels and a tiny bit of chicken that was more bone than meat. Not worth the $ 25.00 cost of the paella. No wonder the place was empty! Won’t be going back.

The food was fantastic and I’m a picky eater. The space and ambiance was perfection. The air quality and temperature were unmatched in any dining establishment in PR. Not sure how they are doing it

The best part of the meal was the garbanzo soup which was delicious. The paella was room temp and kind of bland. and the chicken was sandpaper dry. I was hoping for epic paella and this was lacking. The sangria was good.

I’ve been visiting Café Valencia since I was a kid — it’s a family favorite. Today I decided to bring my boyfriend for the 1st time; we got the poultry croquettes as an appetizer. They’re nice and they always serve them with a tasty mayo-ketchup sauce. We both got the«paella marinara». In my opinion this is the best paella I’ve tasted in Puerto Rico(and I’ve taste a few in other restaurants). The portion is quite large and the price is just right. The flavors are well-blended and you get a generous portion of shrimp, lobster, calamari and oysters in your paella. They have other plates too which I’ve never tasted but I will still recommend the paella marinara. The service is great and so is the ambience. Definitely plan on going back over and over again.
