BUNS Burger Shop

Yes. Great burgers and fries. It’s a little bit pricey but I’d recommend it. The atmosphere is cool and relaxed. There is a longer than average beer list. The staff is friendly and efficient.

While on vacation in San Juan we stopped here two or three times. The food was decent, we got burgers and fries every time. The best thing about this place is that compared to everywhere else in the neighborhood this is very reasonably priced (why we kept coming back). The quality of the food exceeded that of other places we visited for double the price. The only misstep was they forgot part of my order one day, but were very quick to get me what I had originally ordered.

The burgers are good and is the right portion. The fries came cold though; hence, I’m giving it only 3 stars. Fries should always be hot.

I didn’t get a picture of my burger but it was really good. they cooked it to a perfect medium and it was so juicy and flavorful. Then they put onions and some secret sauce on it and it really made the burger pop with flavor. The onion rings are very average. Make sure and grab a bunch of paper napkins to wipe the juice & grease that will be everywhere.

They’ve got it all! Cheap burgers, a ton of beers, great fries, and ICEES?!
Why didn’t anyone think of it before? Icees are cheap and delicious, not as heavy as a milkshake, and pair perfectly with a burger or hot dog. I’m a convert.
Locals and tourists come here after a day at the beach, or, if you’re us, after a long day of traveling. It’s close to hotels as well as more shops and bars. The outside seating allows you to people watch while consuming your incredible burger (or massive hot dog) and fries.
Open up a shop in Boston. Please!

This spot is directly across the street from the Marriott where we stayed. We ate here more times then I care to admit.
Amazing beer selection, I think over 40 different options. Delicious burgers… think Shake Shack.
The staff were friendly and super accommodating. I will definitely visit again when I go back to PR.

Great burgers and the bacon cheese fries were really good. A definite stop for your burger fix while in Condado!

This is a great burger spot. Burgers are delicious and greasy. Beer options are bountiful. It’s located in a nice part of town. The staff is super friendly, and the décor is cool. The place is clean too. I can see this as a chain, but I don’t think it is.
My better half and I have been to PR twice in two years, and we put this on our list both times. That should say something considering PR is filled with amazing restaurants. If you’re in the area, you can’t go wrong here.

This place is great for when you need a burger fix. They cook the burgers medium well which we were kind of worried about but they turned out perfect. My sweets and I got the Single Buns Classic and the single was huge. I couldn’t imagine how one would be able to fit a double in their mouth lol. I added jalapeño and they piled them on which was nice. No skimping there. We also tried the chili and cheese fries and a chili and cheese hot dog. The fries were pretty good. I would order them again. The hot dog had a great flavor. It was chili and cheese overload for me. Their beer selection is awesome and they have an amazing selection of local hot sauces which was fun! I love trying new hot sauces.

This is a great burger place right across the street from the Marriott. They are open late on Fridays and Saturdays. The burgers are very good. They have a nice selection of craft beers. The prices are very reasonable. Service is good.

This place is one of my favorite places to go get burgers on the island. The location in condado is very centric and has a beachy vibe to it. They also have a place in Guaynabo that’s a bit larger but everything else is the same.
So let’s start with the burgers. They’re delicious! The meat is good quality and doesn’t have that gummy texture that some cheap burger places have. The bread is also so awesome all soft and yummy. They have some free toppings but you can even add a fried egg if that’s your thing for an extra cost.
I really like their Cajun spiced fries cause they’re just mildly spicy and completely addicting. The bacon and cheese fries are also delicious. They serve a whole bunch of fries per order so if you don’t want to pig out, there’s enough fries to split between two people.
They also sell grilled cheeses and hot dogs for the non-​burger people. I tried their blue cheese grilled cheese and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. I haven’t tried the hot dogs so I can’t comment on that.
Oh and if you have a sweet toother, their shakes are extra creamy and a perfect finish for any meal.
Did I mention this place is cheap? Fries for 2 bucks and change. Burgers for 4 – 5 bucks. This place is great quality for a reasonable price.

I liked Buns, didn’t LOVE buns. It was a decent burger joint. I ordered the regular bacon cheese burger with a side of onion rings. The wait was short, the service was good and the food was decent. I liked the ability to mix up my own sauces and burger fixings. I’m pretty simple with my burgers, and like that I don’t have to spend time picking things off. Moreover, they have a long list of toppings to choose from. Also, they have a sauce bar that is wonderful — allows you to really customize.

I am a HUGE fan of this place. As a resident of Condado and a burger lover, I can confidently say this is as good as it gets for burgers in Puerto Rico. I have tried most other burger places in Puerto Rico and none come close to BUNS. The food is consistently delicious, the service is always excellent, and the employees are very sharp. The only negative is that it doesn’t have free parking because it is in such a busy area, although the parking is only about $ 2 for an hour. All in all, this is one of my favorite restaurants in Puerto Rico. I have been here MANY times and have never had a disappointing experience, only positive ones.
Sidenote: If you’re after pizza in Condado, the owners of Buns also operate Fahrenheit Pizza which is also excellent.

We came here for a quick bite on a Tuesday afternoon.
We had our choice of seats and the customer service was very kind.
I chose the skinny burger with onion rings and my boyfriend had a regular burger with Cajun fries.
The Cajun fries are not hot, more of a mesquite & sweet spice which was very tasty.
I really liked how all of the flavors worked very well together. Someone definitely put a lot of time into this menu. They also had hard apple cider which was a big plus.
There was an entire wall of hot sauce and dipping sauces which is totally awesome, who doesn’t love to dip?!

Liked Buns a lot, but didn’t love it. The fries in my opinion were just OK. Ironically the bun kinda sucked. However the burger all together wasn’t half bad. I loved how they have so many sauces to choose from by the condiment section.
Also they have a nice selection of local brews. Very casual atmosphere.

Fun little burger joint located right across the street from the Marriott. Opens a little later than one might think at 11:30am every day so keep that in mind if you like your burger promptly at 11. They have a vast selection from burgers to chili dogs to shakes, sides, etc. so something for everyone. Also have a massive beer selection, pretty impressive for a small place. You order up at the counter, customize to your liking, then grab a pager and wait for it to be ready.
The Food:
Bacon Cheese Burger — comes standard with American cheese, and I upgraded mine to have BBQ sauce, an onion ring, and a fried egg. Yum. Not the best ever but not bad.
Onion Rings — these had the right mix of onion and crispy batter, so if your a ring eater this are up to snuff.
Chili Dog — didn’t try it but it was huge!
Overall a good fast food stop if you don’t mind packing on some calories and have your expectations set for something a step above McDonald’s.

Reminded us of a burger joint back home. Cheese bacon fries were awesome.
We sat on the patio and enjoyed a beautiful day.

Love little surprises like these. Who would have though we would find such an awesome casual burger joint on our visit to PR.
This place seemed to be crowed whenever we passed by it. And for good reasons. The burgers are delicious. So juicy and flavorful. They have a lot of fun topping options as well. The fries were different then I am used to having, but I really like them. AND since they were chilly cheese fries, they were even better!
We decided to get take out from here on one of the nights when we were going to stay in and watch a movie. This was a great at-​home date night, thanks to BUNS!

OHHHHH YEAH!!! This is exactly what I needed after that horrible Jamaican Restaurant fiasco. This place is located in a hip side of town; near a beach & shopping.
I can’t believe I had to come allll the way to San Juan to get legit cheese fries. These cheese fries were soooooo good… the were perfect. And the burger was just as tasty (although I wasn’t a huge fan of the bun because it seems a bit «chewy»; I actually took the top bun off and enjoyed it more).
I want to go back to try the onion rings and have some more cheese fries and another burger.
By the way, parking is challenging! We parked in a self-​park parking lot near the restaurant and it only cost $ 2.50 (we weren’t there long). If your in San Juan you have to eat here!!! You’re welcome!

Todo aquí es valorado razonablemente y el alimento es bueno, también.
La hamburguesa clásica con queso y los «chili fries» son tan bueno. Es el tipo de alimento que usted podría conseguir dondequiera en los EEUU pero sucede sólo estar en Puerto Rico. Los «hot dogs» son buenos tambien y me los gusta mucho con estoy aqui.
Toman mucho tiempo y esfuerzo de hacer su alimento bueno y yo quiero eso acerca de comer aquí. Es siempre bueno.

Buenos hamburgers, aunque me gustaría ver más opciones creativas. Cebollas caramelizadas no es creativo. Quizás panes de distintos sabores o onion rings dentro del burger, o jalapeño frito como otro topping, quesos interesantes y/​o salsas de distintos tipos. Ideas que hagam que sobresalga por encima de «buen hamburger». Por eso le dí cuatro estrellas. Las papitas muy buenas. La selección de cerveza es excelente. Buen servicio y rápido. Y la decoración super cool.
