My wife and I and our 25 year old son and his girlfriend are vacationing in Isla Verde this week. The last time we were here we had a fantastic meal at Salt Gastrobar. We were so saddened to hear that it closed, but when we went to check out what was there in its place, the hostess of the new restaurant, Emigrante, assured us that the original chef was still there and that the quality of the food would be good. It did not disappoint! We had another exceptional meal! Our party of four shared four delicious and creative tapas and a couple of burgers with, possibly, the best fries I ever had. This place is the recreation of Salt. The décor, service, and ambience is great. But go for the food– so freakin good!!!

This place was amazing! We had martinis on their martini night they took about 10 minutes which was unusual because the waitress kept apologizing and then she took them off the bill! The food was also great and not very expensive! If I wasn’t leaving tomorrow I would come back again and again!

Guest staying at the hotel and tried this restaurant on a spur of the moment. Ruby was our waitress and she was beyond amazing! I tried mofongo for the first time during our visit and i fell in love with it. So as i was looking at the menu, I asked if they had any mofongo and she told me no. Came back a minute later and said the chef could make my mofongo! I was sooo excited. The mofongo was the best that i had since being in san juan. Not only was the service great but so was the food! I highly recommend this place!

We ordered a whole mess of tapas. Our waitress Maria was really down to earth and funny. Great food and service overall. My personal favorite was the croquetas, but the table preferred the pork belly montaditos. The octopus, pork tacos and fig flatbread also deserve a mention. My least favorite were the cigars(I don’t like fried stuff); my parents loved them. The way they bring them out is unique though. Avoid the chuleria drink unless you enjoy really sweet cruise like drinks. The margarita was the best drink on the table, but all the other drinks were good(mule, whiskey cocktail) The only thing I’d say is that the tapas were a little on the pricey side, but compared with surrounding restaurants it falls on the average range. Overall really good vibe, food and service! Thanks Maria!
