Review is for beer and atmosphere only; I arrived after the kitchen closed. The Dunkel alone was well worth the trip if Central European lagers are getting old. The music was neither EDM nor overly loud; it was Thursday, however, so that might not be the case on weekends.

The place is with incredible cheap beer and infinity bad service. You cannot split when paying. I was late and joined my company, but it was impossible to order beer or get an empty glass. Beer is nothing special. Disappointed. Upd: Is there zero stars rating? A bold guy came and said I can’t drink my juice from another place. So, security works, but waiters don’t. Upd: after 40 minutes I gently asked a barmen why so slow? They asked where we sit, I explained but she said she does not understand.

Down the stairs into a dampy and warm cellar. Here lies CK Browar. It has been around since the early 90’s. Its a mixture of brewery, irish pub, sports pub and gastropub. From what I remember they have a couple of beers on tap. My favourite was the CK Weizen one. I still dont get why people drink certain beers with straw in Krakow, but I guess that will remain a mystery. I tried a couple of others, but I preferred the one I mentioned. Their beers are non-filtered and non-pasteurised ones. If you like, you are able to sample all their beers as well. Most did 5 L of beers in beer towers though. As with most pubs/bars in Krakow there are of course a dozen of TVs here. And what struck me a bit funky was that it was edm on the speakers. I did not picture this sort of establishment as an edm kinda place. We tried some of the local dishes as well and it was ok. Maybe a bit bland, but at the same time, we did not come here to get a gourmet dinner experience. Seemed to bit a mixture of tourists and locals. Just ok for me due to not as great selection of beers as I had hoped. Thumbs up however for good lacation, quick service and good prices for both beer and food.

Interesting bar where you can try non filtered, non pasteurised beer. I might always come out at a temperature verging on warm, or it might have been the 35 degree day on which I chose to visit. You can order a beer paddle to try them all and move on from there — I was particularly taken by a semi dark beer with a hint of ginger. The menu is reasonably priced with loads of options, mostly centring around the meat and carbs that make up 90% of your diet in Eastern Europe. My pork knuckle burger, which was tender and soaked in gravy, did have some pickle and the obligatory lettuce leaf on it, so that has to count for something right? Salad sorted for the day. Sit outside. It’s a great spot for people watching

Service here sucks. Each server I talked to didn’t seem like they wanted to be bothered. Beer is ok.

A nice bar which although in a basement is fully air conditioned — in the summer in Krakow this is important. Good beer at reasonable prices. Sports bar that is good for football. Ate here one night and the food not bad — reasonably good value if not a menu designed to soak up beer!

CK Browar is a good place for beer – that’s it. I would dissuade people from coming here for dinner. The quality of the food has taken a massive downward skid. My last experience was simply awful. I ordered an onion soup and a pork chop. The former hardly tasted of onion at all while the pork chop wasn’t sufficiently salted. How could a Polish restaurant messes up something so basic as schabowy? My companion had it even worse. She ordered two fish dishes. One was not fresh, while the other wasn’t seasoned or cooked properly. To make matters worse, the waiter was rather rude.

Lecker Essen und selbstgebrautes Bier. Von Außen unscheinbar führt der Eingang direkt hinab in den Keller. 2 Meter Bier sind natürlich Pflicht!

I had the Chateaubriand and it was lovely. I could have done without the mountain of fries that came with it… otherwise an OK place.

This is an awesome looking bar in an underground cellar not far outside the central area of Krakow. There are lots of huge beer labels adorning the walls. There don’t seem to be many microbreweries in Krakow yet, unlike in many cities, so this is fairly unique. They didn’t seem to have an English menu of any kind(and why should they) so I had to try and work out what the options were. Piwo, dunkel and weizen were pretty simple to decipher. The other 2 options began with J, although one was illegible so(perhaps not wanting too be egible to be ill) I went for the option called ‘Jasne’(not unadventurouscould have meant poison for all I knew. Although it seemed a very common word on the TVwhen I looked it up later it means of course/obviouslybut also clear/bright, which makes more sense), which turned out to be a golden brew and just my type of beverage. If you are here(Krakow) for the beer then you need to put this place on your itinerary.
