Fantastic. Popped in for breakfast and wasn’t disappointed. Great friendly staff who served us promptly. Coffee was spot on, so good we had seconds. The breakfast itself was excellent with the hash browns being the highlight. Reasonably priced with a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Mmmmmmhhhh Scopa bene, get in my tummy. Came here for brunch right before my flight back to the states. This place was so good that my colleague brought a group of us back for her second round. While known for its delectable pizza and hot chocolate, I couldn’t resist the eggs Benedict with salmon. They have this incredible chili sauce/oil that I drizzled all over my plate. The poached eggs paired great with the hash and salmon. It wasn’t too busy on a Saturday for late brunch. Give it a try if you’re feeling for some good grub to kickstart your day.

First time I have ever been here. First of all, New Zealand is one of the best countries I have been to. My cousin brought me to this little restaurant for lunch. This is such a quaint place. I loved the atmosphere and everything about it. The waiter was very friendly. I arrived with a party of FIVE. We were seated right away. Not knowing what to order, just Macchiato. So first they brought out my Macchiato and me as a non coffee drinker, I was expecting it to be something sweet but it far from sweet. Of course I had to try it anyway. Let’s just say, it wasn’t my favorite. Next they brought out my lunch. The presentation was on point. First bite, it was so yummy. I had never had anything like it. Very tasty as well. Not to cheesy. All the ingredients was complementing each other. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch/lunch. I left with wanting to try more things off their menu. Will definitely be back the next time I am visiting Wellington, New Zealand.

Now I remember why I stopped to going here. We were sat at 1pm. It took just over 50 minutes for our pizza and pasta to arrive. When we did ask at the 30 minute mark where our food was, we were told that our order was next. I didn’t realize that meant the cook hadn’t even started our ticket. I wish they had warned us, prior to seating, that the kitchen was backed up almost an hour so we could have made an informed decision. But I felt really bad for the three-top behind us; they were visibly and audibly hangry, too, like us. It’s not good to keep older people waiting that long… it plays havoc with metabolism and blood sugar levels. The lesson is: don’t go there on weekdays if you have anything to do … like work, run errands, or keep other appointments. However, the pizza is good. Papardelle pesto with chevre was delicious… but was swimming in pesto — too much. Terrible experience — decent food.

Awful Service! Not worth the wait… Told is it would be 30 minutes and waited an hour before we left. 18.00 bill for bread and a soda. I will never go back.

Basil gnocchi was amazing. Sicilian pizza was flavorful and the right kick! CAA550BA-EF6E-421B-9C87−31915ECEF9F2

Doesn’t take bookings. Except when they randomly do. So you know, use your mind reading to figure out when.

OMG! The most amazing Italian restaurant we’ve experienced! Watch your chef flip the pizza dough infront of you, or try their homemade pastas, you won’t be disappointed. This is the kind of place where you can be in casual clothes, out for a quick bite — Or a little bit posh, enjoying a quiet corner over candlelight, and be treated equally. The service staff have such a warming demeanour, and have such a great knowledge of not only their menu, but the Italian cuisine. Then there’s the food, which is not only incredible, but it’s a reasonable price. Their extensive wine list matches the entire menu as well, with some tasty international drops. Don’t go easy on the chilli oil either! It’s made in house and is to die for! Well done guys, can’t wait to come back and experience it all over again.

Really nice atmosphere. The servers were very helpful and attentive. Tried the Bufala pizza, grilled bread, and roasted gourmet potatoes. All really good!

For me, Scopa brunch was great. Smoked salmon, spinach on dark rye, hold the eggs but keep the hollandaise. NOM. The English breakfast however, I’ve got to say, didn’t look appealing at all. You see, it was down to the sausage choice — it honestly looked like the after effects of a bad meal on a plate — and didn’t taste good either. Change your sausages, make your breakfast look a happier place.

Probably the best real italian pizza in Wellington. Oven-fired, thin crust, charred bits of crust and tasty toppings.

Charming small Italian café serving salads, homemade pastas, and thin crust pizzas. We had the vegetarian fusilli(leeks, mushrooms, tomatoes, asiago cheese) and bufala pizza. Both were excellent.

This place is a super cool small restaurant on Cuba st. Authentic Italian cuisine, delicious pizzas and fabulous layout of the bar and service area where you can look right into the woodfired pizza oven. Pretty busy during the lunch hour and two for one deal on margherita pizzas on tuesdays so look out for all the students!

If you were to imagine your favourite place to hangout with friends, what would it feature? Great coffee? Delicious pizzas? Friendly staff? Stylish décor? Fabulous brunches? A chilled, unpretentious atmosphere in a trendy part of the central city? Scopa has the lot — making it our favourite place for a pitstop in Wellington. Situated in funky, art deco Cuba Street, it’s the perfect place to catch up with friends during a day of shopping or in the evenings if you fancy a chilled alternative to Courtenay Place. You can always expect a warm welcome in this family-run Italian restaurant and café. The food is fabulous(try their homemade chilli olive oil drizzled over pizza for a blow-your-head off culinary treat!) and the prices reasonable. Their eggs florentine are also superb. The décor is incredibly stylish — even the toilets are amazing!
