If you ever what something to eat and your in town I highly recommend this place these dumplings are amazing. Recommend the Cantonese Chicken or the Korean Beef. The shop is a little small but the staff are helpful and friendly.

I was excited to try House Of Dumplings while on holiday in Wellington as I’d heard so many great things about them. The shop itself is really small, and was a little confusing when entering. The customer service rep was really friendly(british accent guy) and explained the menu to be in detail. I opted for two lunch boxes to take away and got two flavours. Both meals tasted great, a decent amount of food and the dumplings themselves were moist and had good flavour. The salads were a touch disappointing as there was a lot of dressing on them which I didn’t ask for(and it wasn’t on them when picking). While I was there, which was just after 11am(when they opened) there was someone going and in and out of the store front in a hurry quite a few times which was quite disrupting with the amount of people in the store. I can only assume the person was the owner, and felt like they couldve been using a service door to do what they needed. Overall, it’s a cute little shop and I would recommend trying them out if you’re a fan of dumplings. If you’re after a seat I would get in early or just set yourself up to be waiting a while as the shop only has a few seats for eating in.

Normally, I am not a dim sum fan, but my wife loves dumplings, so she insisted on going for lunch, so I thought I would give it a try. I figured I couldn’t go wrong with some skewered meat and thought I would try a couple of dumplings since they’re only $ 2 each. What a surprise! The skewers were fantastic. I got the Cajun Chicken and the Malaysian Beef. The beef was even better dipped in their«Mum’s sauce», but it didn’t go with the Cajun on the chicken as well, though it certainly didn’t make it worse. I also had the pork and cabbage dumpling and a chicken and coriander. Both were great, but again, Mum’s sauce makes everything better. The girl who took our order recommended getting the dumplings steamed, but I got them fried and did not regret it, they were much better that way. My wife got the meal box, which consists of five dumplings of your choice, rice and salad. All of the dumplings she got site loved, as well as the soba salad. She was also a fan of the Mum’s sauce as well. Our food was ready quickly(we ordered takeaway) and the girl working was very nice and helpful. Good service, delicious food, and a great price? That equals five stars every time!
