Love this combination of books and tea. Cute little tea shop — and they serve and stock Harney & Sons!

Lovely little tea room with a great range of teas and plenty of interesting books. Sadly they don’t currently cater for gluten free just yet but I’m hoping that will change soon.

Located right in the centre of Mt Eden Village, Chapter is a cool little bookstore and tea shop that is hugely popular among locals. If you’re a tea lover like myself, then this is the place for you! English breakfast, Earl Grey, Vanilla Rooibus, a wide range of fruit teas, flower blends and foreign teas — there is seriously every kind of tea you can imagine in this store! Not only can you buy the teas in Chapter, you can also purchase a pot of tea while you have a quiet read or study up on your uni notes. Tea pots and other such tea accessories are also readily available and are all super cute and colourful. Chapter is a great place to find a novel gift — perfect for your nana, aunt, mum or bestie — and better yet, if you gift some of their scrummy tea to someone close to you, you can drink it too! Yesssss. Chapter also stock a hoard of novels — romance novels in particular — so not only can you enjoy a hot cuppa, but you can buy a deliciously sappy tear jerking Nick Sparks page turner at the same time. The staff at Chapter are brilliantly friendly and the owner of the store knows everything there is to know about romance novels, and can easily steer you in the right direction. Tip: Just because it specialises in tea doesn’t mean you can’t purchase other hot drinks from Chapter. Coffee, hot chocolates, Chai tea, cakes and other sweet treats are also available.

I first stepped through Chapter’s door about two years back when the weather was really bad and I had a 30 wait for the bus, it seemed like a good time to try it out. I think I was the youngest in there by 30 years that day but tea is not just for old people. I also didn’t let the romance novels put me off, I had my own reading material anyway. Chapter is little but the shelves are crammed with an incredible range of teas, I had mango paradise, often I go for Granny’s Garden, I like the fruity ones. Down the back of the store is all the tea paraphernalia, if you’re serious about your tea drinking and want all the right tea gear, you’ll find it here. A nice little shop/café and the lady who owns it is really nice, Chapter is a pleasurable place to sit over a pot of tea and the black board outside often has funny tea related quotes which is a nice touch.

I usually turn my nose up to coffee shops that sell books, even book stores with coffee shops. Especially if the shelves are full of appallingly bright covers and trashy romance novels, and books that don’t have any prices at that. But, as a shop selling loose leaf tea in a classic English style with jars and scoops around the counter, well I have to give credit where credit is due. They offer a great selection of teas, paired with a takeaway menu with brief descriptions, to peruse at your pleasure. The service wasn’t half shabby either. In this respect, Chapter is a good place to go to for a simple gift for health nuts or a treat for the lady in your life. If you do, for what ever reason, purchase a book they do have a loyalty card similar to a coffee card, but for books.

During one of my phases(my tea phase) I envisioned a revolutionary loose leaf health tea that I could make myself which basically just consisted of a whole lot of teas mixed together to make one super tea. I did my research and ended up with an extensive list. I went into a lot of places looking for these teas and didn’t have much luck, until I went into Chapter Tea! Foremost a book shop, but also full of an extensive range of loose leaf teas! I found nearly everything on my list in here. Also you can purchase the tea in 100g lots so I didn’t end up with more than I needed. The staff were really helpful here but not pushy at all, something that I value when I shop.
