We came here as had heard good things about it from another fellow Unilocaler. And a good move it turned out to be. Yes, we did have to wait a while but it is worth it in the end. We wished we had known before hand but the staff told us we could have made a booking… would have been good. Ah well… next time! A good thing about the place was when the staff could tell that some tables were nearly finished they came out side and gave us the menu to look at so we could make our order, so that when we were seated there was not so much of a wait for the food. That’s good thinking and service!!! I have had similar pancakes in other places but I would have to say these ones here just about topped them all. We ordered the pork with peking sauce and chives, with the spring pancake of course. Then fried potato with vinegar sauce, this is shredded potato looking more like noodle than potato. Not something I can ever remember seeing in a Western restaurant, or maybe if there is I have been going to the wrong restaurants. Anyway in addition to the aforementioned potato and pork we also chose sweet & sour pork, chives pastry cake and spring onion Chinese pancake. And yes it probably sounds a lot, and it was, so much so we ended up taking some home. Anyway to sum it all up and to prevent myself from waxing lyrical about the food for ever it was delicious and every mouthful fully savoured. Some of the best I have tasted of these particular dishes. Definitely a must try for anyone who has a hunger for these pancakes. A 4⁄5 well deserved.

Between Stumpy’s wood fire pizza and a dairy. This place looks run down and dirty but you should never judge a book by its covers. Serving thin crêpe like plain pancakes which you load up with the variety of fillings you order and wrap it up burrito style. I love this place and it’s always packed, everything we have to wait outside for a table no matter which day we go… Today we ordered a cumin lamb(I think it’s one if their most popular fillings), pork is peiking sauce, julienne cut potatoes(they call it potato noodles hahahaha another popular filling here) with capsicum/chilies, and lastly the tofu skin with chives. Technically these are just normal Chinese stir fried dishes but they have been seasoned to taste better wrapped than eaten on it’s own. As in they are a bit salter and more flavourful but don’t worry it’s perfect when wrapped in their pancakes. The lamb is super tender and juicy, full of flavour and spice but still taste good on its own. The pork is way too sweet on its own but taste good with the pancake. Potato is more on the firm side which is how we Asian like it(not mushy and don’t worry it’s been cooked just not too long to get mushy) also tasty on its own. And tofu skin with chives is delicious(technically it’s just tofu but it’s thin like lasagne noodles? Cut into strips? Hard to explain…) I think some of the best Asian foods come from the more run down looking shops because these guys don’t care so much about the interior design as they’re more focused on bringing everyone quality delicious and authentic foods. So never judge the food by its shopfront/interior design. Some places have amazing design that draws customers in the first time but horrible food so they never come back again… Or you have places like this where customer continue to return not for the dirty interior(more moths than countable… Probably it was super hot that day and the door was always open) but for the delicious legitimate food and word of mouth. By the way, they have a ‘B’ grade so relaaaaaax.
