Located in a shed in City Works Depot. The coffee is solid here and worth it. The barista wasn’t pretentious and you could tell took coffee seriously. I ordered a Cortado(off the menu) and it was served at the right temperature with great consistency. I also like the decorations on the cups. They also serve some of Scratch Baker goods. Overall, I recommend this coffee shop if you’re near CWD.

Come for the coffee. Stay for another coffee. Then another coffee. Coffee. Comfortable, relaxed, and unpretentious, the boys behind the machine will hit you up with some sweet brown caffeine and decent selection of tasty pastry. You’re probably not going to hang out here all day and read the paper, but it’s comfy enough to sit and down your caffeinated beverages. It’s relatively small, but the outdoor seating works a treat for those fresh Auckland mornings. I had two double ristrettos that were masterfully done, and they’ll offer you free bubbly water along with your coffee, which is nice. My spinach and feta scone was quite nice, if a little malformed and under done – when the coffee is this good, it’s easy to overlook.

Stumbled across this little boutique coffee roastery this morning while running some morning errands. Three Beans Coffee is located at the ever so popular City Works Depot where you are spoilt for choice on places to eat! Three Beans Coffee Roasters offers every kind of coffee you can think of from espresso, bulletproof, filter, slow drip or cold brew. You name it they do it! Using their own beans and special blends. Their single origin at the moments the Raging Rhino is strong and chocolatey that packs a punch! I had a Chemex that was a blend of toasted almond, blackcurrant and chocolate. If you are looking for food they only had a bacon and egg bap on hand but you would really only visit here for the amazing coffee anyways

In my humble opinion, Three Beans serves up some of the best coffee in Auckland. It’s gruntier, richer that a lot of places and it’s just good with milk as it is without. On top of this, I love that Three Beans source all their beans ethically and have relationships with most of their growers. As for the roastery/café itself, it’s small but there is a communal table inside or if it’s nice out, there’s a couple of table outside that get drenched in afternoon sun. In terms of food there’s usually have a couple of scones from next door but they if you want to buy something from Scratch and eat it with your coffee next door that’s not problem!

Sensational coffee Had the privilege of getting a run down from Sam on the coffee making process. He is clearly a perfectionist and extremely particular about every single element that affects his coffees. The attention to details shows as the coffee he produces is first class. Hot, strong, not burnt. Also check out the baking. The bacon scones are owwweee!

I LOVE the coffee at this place, ordered a long black and it was the best I’ve had in a while! Three Beans hides around the corner from Al Brown’s Best Ugly Bagels. A small coffee shop with great décor, with large roaster, which is in use 9am Monday to Friday if you want a fresh start to your morning. Came in on a Sunday morning so it was quiet, perfect for a catch up with friends. Coffee ordered there is served on a little tray. The barista was ultra friendly! And there are some great books to read while you’re there(make sure to check out life in 5 seconds, especially the design nerds, super cute read!). Definitely will be hitting up this spot more often!
