Stephen Marr

Had a couple haircuts here with Anna and one colour. Always feel amazing and pampered. The natural lighting in the salon is very flattering, as opposed to harsh fluorescent in other places. The flat whites/​tea are also amazing. They invite clients back a week after your first appointment for a free styling lesson. Was also given a voucher for a facial (much appreciated).
Spotless, chic, and relaxing, I love leaving with the samples of their fabulous products to try at home. Would recommend to anyone looking for an enjoyable salon experience with knowledgeable stylists.

I have been a fan of Stephen Marr for 3 years now and I can quite confidently say that this is largely due to the quality of their staff. Not only are they talented and crazy-​cool but they all seem to love their jobs and genuinely care about their clients.
Last week I booked in to see Donni at Stephen Marr, having not been to the hairdressers in over 10months. To say my hair had turned into an unruly mane would be an understatement (think 12 year old Hermione Granger). With the only instruction being «pleeeeease fix it», Donni and her colourist Dani set to work and within a few hours I was walking out of there with freshly cut ends and creamy blond highlights. Whole. New. Alex.
It must also be mentioned that Stephen Marr/​The Department Store has one of the best playlists ever. Any iPod that jumps from ‘Stuck in the Middle with You’ by Stealers Wheel to ‘Ms Jackson’ by Outkast is A-​OK with me.

One of the top Salons in Auckland, and probably New Zealand, Stephen Marr is the best way to make get you feeling like a million bucks. The staff are involved in all the top fashion shows, photo shoots and are very highly regarded. You always know you’re going to get what you’ve asked for and that you’re getting the lastest advice, techniques and colours.
You can always judge a place by their staff and you can tell Stephen Marr is awesome because their staff are awesome. They always look really fashionable, are friendly, and willing to go above and beyond for their customers.
I recently went to the Takapuna Salon to get my hair done for a wedding but had booked in at the Newmarket one. Oops. Luckily they rearranged their day to fit me in and I am so grateful as if they hadn’t I would’ve had to of tamed my crazy hair myself! That would not have been fun at all.
The salon is also an amazing place with plant walls and cool industrial furniture. They also gave me an awesome coffee to enjoy while being pampered which won me over even more.
