Stephen Marr

Mmmm mmm mmmmm. It doesn’t get better than spending a few hours at Stephen Marr. They’re renown for their haircutting skills and I can testify to this. The best thing about here is that they have an option called the ‘Runway Touchup’. With this you get your hair tonged, nails did, makeup put on all while you down a red wine or long black. It will seriously change your life. And it has done for me before many events and weddings. It just takes the whole stress out of the occasion, as I know they’ll get it right. And I can just sit down and relax then hit the evening like I own it.
The staff are super friendly and wiling to go above and beyond for you. They’re also good at suggesting something different for you that you never would have thought of and they come out on top every time.

For years I have been making regular trips to Stephen Marr. I have been so many times I can’t even remember how many. I was going to Stephen Marr while I was dating a lifeguard with long hair and a penchant for Jäger bombs. This was years ago, I converted him and although we didn’t work out, he still goes there now.
Full disclosure: I go to the same stylist and if he left I would probably try to follow him.
That being said, I am happy he remains within that Newmarket salon. It’s become a place I feel like I can relax and take a load off. The receptionists are always nice and coffee/​tea/​wine/​water is always immediately offered upon your arrival. The magazine selection is excellent, although I prefer to complain about my life than read during my haircuts.
It’s not the cheapest place to get your hair done, but I’ve never left dissatisfied which is a big deal for someone who is very rarely ever satisfied. (Overshare.) Also, Lucy and the Powder Room is upstairs so if you need any spa treatments, you can get everything booked in together and done at once. #efficient
