The cheese pizza is delicious and very cheesy. The base is great as well the sauce is real sauce. My friends loved the chicken and tomato pizza too. $ 4 for a large slice of cheese pizza and $ 5 for a slice of pepperoni or tomato and chicken. My only complaint is that it’s incredibly greasy. You can see the oil on top!

The pizza here is so amazing! Huge, fresh ingredients and authentic NY flavour. Try the half and half so you can get two great pizzas in one. Combined pepperoni with chicken. Love the salty, savory taste of the pepperoni and the fresh sweet-​tasting tomatoes and cheese in the chicken pizza. Great with a big bottle on L&P. The crust was chewy with a bit of crunch. Just perfect. If you even remotely like pizza, this is a place you should not miss.

We tried Sal’s a few years ago (2008or9) and I was not impressed at all. Till now I have never set foot in any of the stores.
But, last week I heard that Sal’s had Ben & Jerry’s (I’m a Major Fan) so I got my a… down there straight away to pick up some ice cream. When we arrived at the Fort St store my sons decided that they were hungry for some pizza, so I purchased them each a slice to eat before I left for home with my frozen treasure. Curiosity led me to have a small bite of my son Max’s slice and my world changed!
Sal’s Pizza is AWESOME, we went back for more and stuffed our faces. I saw another review for Sal’s commenting on the employees and I have to agree, they were GREAT. So friendly and helpful, not something you find in a lot of food places these days.
I don’t know if I caught Sal’s on a bad day all those years ago or they have changed their recipe, either way it’s great place to get a slice of pizza.

I have to say not only was the pizza and garlic knots GREAT, but so were the employees. I left my phone on the table and had a small panic attack when I got home, but when I went back they remembered me and had it right when I walked in the door! (Thank you again!)
Anyway, back to the food. Best pizza I’ve had since coming to Auckland. Definitely New York authentic style. Highly recommend! And the have great deals every day of the week. We will definitely back!
