Maskell Street Liquor

What first bothered me slightly about the Maskell Street Liquor was that the shop attendant wasn’t wearing shoes. I don’t know why this is such an issue, but it just kind of weirded me out. Like yes we live in New Zealand and everyone is super overly casual all the time but I don’t know, I think this was a little bit much for me. A second thing that bothered me is that they didn’t have all the prices on the beers in the fridge, so I had to keep going in and out of the fridge asking the guy for prices (all of which were a bit on the pricey side), and in the end I just ended up copping out and getting an average bottle of cider because it was actually marked with a price. He also only ID’d me after my card had been accepted, so say I wasn’t over 18, what would he have done? Just given me cash back? Didn’t he already technically sell me the stuff so if I was underage he would have broken the law anyway? I don’t know the fineprint of drinking sale laws, but what I do know is that I am definitely steering clear of Maskell Street Liquor anytime in the near future.
