Lighter Quay

Lighter Quay is part of a recent waterfront development that has vastly upped Auckland waterfront’s stocks. What was once a dishevelled industrial area is now an attractive high-​end business district lined with expensive waterfront apartments and capped off with one of Auckland’s top hotels, the Sofitel.
This hotel opened with a bang and the restaurant is still nice but I have not heard anything about the nightclub for some time.
The whole area is very picturesque and the apartments/​office buildings have a classical/​modern architecture that is easy on the eye. I’m a particular fan as it adds an extra loop to any waterfront walk/​jog excursion. Big ups Auckland City.
