I would pretty much never buy my dinner from here ever again, unless I was so starving I was starting to consider ripping my own arm off for a bite. My friends and I ordered a big order from here, for about 7 of us. We ordered some Chinese food as well some hot chips, fritters and a couple of people got burgers. Pretty much the biggest feed I’d ever seen. It was not good. Firstly, we had to wait for ages. Like not, oh they are quite busy there’s gonna be ten people in front of us busy, like there is no one here why did our order take half an hour? The paper with the chips and fritters and the paper bags with the burgers were pretty much translucent because of the grease. Yuck. The chips were far too salty, and I like salt. The Chinese food was average at best. It was reasonably priced, I’ll give them that. But for the wait, the grease, the lack of good anything, it was far too expensive. Go somewhere else.

Titirangi has become classier over the years, but there are still places like this that remind you of its shabby, West Auckland heritage. This is one of those places that serves both Chinese and European food, thereby ensuring that at best they’ll only be good at one of them. I hope it’s the Chinese, because I was pretty unimpressed with the European. We got the typical fish, chips, a couple of potato fritters, and one person for a vegetarian burger. Everything was super greasy. Too greasy. Forget about turning the paper clear, there was so much oil it was turning the table underneath clear as well. The fish was fresh, underneath the oil-soaked batter, and the chips were good as far as chips go. But even if you’re not worried about your health(and if you are at all, go somewhere else immediately), there are still better places nearby to get a feed.

I’m basically a kid from the 50s so of course I ordered a milkshake. Well I actually asked for a thickshake but apparently they thought I said thinshake because that’s what I got. A disappointingly thin drink. It might even have been thinner than a milkshake. The flavour ratio was good(caramel is always a winner) but the complete lack of icecreamy thickness was disappointing. I dare not even ask what their milkshakes are like. As the same suggests, this place’s main fare is a Chinese takeaway and burger/fish and chip shop. The fish and chips were tasty but super greasy. The place is okay but have definitely had better.
