Farina

A great addition to Ponsonby Road and definitely some of the best pizza in Auckland. The Toto pizza is available by the metre so it’s great if you have a big group of people (you can buy half metres and standard size as well). A personal favourite is the Salsiccia (fennel sausage, broccoli, mozzarella, and Parmesan). As well as pizza, they serve a wide range of street food and pasta. They have a good range of Italian wines and most are under $ 12 per glass. They have done a really great job with the fit out, which looks fresh and modern whilst at the same time maintaining a link to its traditional Italian roots.

I went in a sunday, its was very empty. But it worthy. Amazing food and service. It is supposed to be a Italian restaurant but there was playing latin music hahaha

Beautifully fitted Italian bar/​restaurant, love the mini subway tiles behind the bar. We were seated at one of the long tables out the back for a shared meal. We ordered a standard pizza (good dough, great pork and fennel meatballs), arancini balls (ok), radicchio salad with Parmesan and walnuts (only they forgot the walnuts) and salt & pepper squid (big on the salt, not sure there was any pepper). Was worth trying, but haven’t been able to rate it high this time.

I’ve been to Farina three times and absolutely love the meter long pizza but it’s over priced and I’ve not had a great experience with the service. Can do half and half with the pizza topping but have to pay for the more expensive topping for the whole pizza which doesn’t seem right.

Farina is terrific. Didn’t expect it to be so delicious. Presentation was great on all fronts. Names escape me but the pasta with shaved octopus was excellent. Sardines were wonderful and the barrata was so fresh. One of my favorite meals in Auckland so far.

First of all the layout of farina is beautiful, while waiting you can watch the chefs cooking away. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. We had the deep fried risotto balls, gnocchi and a half meter pizza. Every element was cooked beautifully. I would definitely recommend eating here but it is a little more expensive than you take away pizza but it’s worth it.
