$ 14 dollar dosa??? no thanks. Plus, who puts cashew nuts in dosa??? I am from US. Dosa over there are priced at $ 5. Too expensive here. As a dosa aficionado, it’s not even up to my standards.

After months of talking about it we finally got to go there. We were surprised at the number of choices available. It took ages to whittle down to our final selection. I had the Mushroom Chopsuey Dosa(#52) with a Buttermilk(#181). Fellow diners tried Onion Uttappa(#29) and Masala Dosa(#20) washed down Mango Lassi(#183) and Cool Sky(#179). The staff were attentive, gave us plenty of hassle free time to make our selections. It was let down by the brightness and basic décor. It can have such a fun and potential in the right locations with suitable atmosphere created. Would we go again yes, but we all agreed that we did not require our side dishes of Naan’s.

Mmm, dosa’s. Possibly the best type of indian food, ever. Dosa Plaza is an Indian fast food kinda’ place with a few branches across Auckland. A dosa is basically a big indian crêpe/pancake. But it’s more on the crispy side than western dosa. Said pancake is stuffed with a range of different fillings, the most popular one being the masala dosa(filled with spicy potatos). Drool. Aside from dosas, they have quite an extensive menu, with Asian and even Mexican influences. We particularly enjoyed the Veg Schezwan Noodles and Hot Garlic Mexican Uttappa(an Uttappa being a type of soft pizza type thing). All the food is cheap, flavoursome and generously sized, making for a great dining experience.
