Bird On A Wire

Getting a great coffee and a healthy lunch or breakfast while on the run is so much easier these days! Bird On A Wire would have to be a favourite go to of mine. Can’t go past good old rotisserie chicken. Then there is their amazing salad options to pair with your chicken. My personal favourite would be the Curry Roasted Kumara Salad. They also have a great selection of sauces to take your chicken to the next level like Jamaican Jerk or your traditional gravy. You can also choose from their wicked selection of rolls and burgers if salads aren’t for you. There are a few Bird on a Wire locations but today I visited the one in Takapuna in Fortieth & Hurstmere as the do a wicked breakfast salad of perfectly poached eggs spinach and beetroot. They also make one fantastic coffee using Espresso Workshop beans and I ordered a piccolo latte as they also stocked my favourite Carew Kitchen almond milk. A healthy breakfast and a great coffee the perfect way to start a busy day on the go! 3 out of 4 attempts to get the chicken wings have been disaster, so why keep trying? Because of that one time they were ok. But I have learnt my lesson and won’t go back!
If you don’t have something a customer orders do not make them wait 20 minutes then hand them something different! You tell them first and let them decide what to do. Or better still just take this item off your menu. Not only that, twice I’ve been ‘signed up’ to the loyalty program and not been on it.

Perfect to have a Bird in Taka. So far I have had a couple of lunches with Bird chicken and salad but the key for me was the other night. Due to a new puppy malfunction and four people arriving for dinner we needed salads to match the chicken we had roasted.
The selection of carrot and beetroot, coleslaw and potato salad hit the spot perfectly and the dinner guests were all very happy.
I picked up some brownie and ginger crunch for dessert. The ginger crunch was the oaty sort that is currently popular and the brownies were delicious.
