My daily caffeine stop off — tiny and with a limited cabinet menu, it’s the perfect place for a quick coffee and inevitable catch up with friends and clients. Servicing Auckland University, local law firms and insurance companies, it’s where suits meet hipsters. Great coffee and the cinnamon brioches are a tasty treat!

The best place to get coffee in the shorthand st /fort st area. Ryan and the team are always on fire, and the experience for most people working along shortland st serves as the highlight of the very busy and important day. These guys are specialise in serving high strength milk fixes like the short poor flat white, hard man, real man etc etc. Not to be forgotten is the cabinet which sits looker’s right of Katie. Particular attention should be paid to anything with chorizo or lamb in it. A true institution.

The go-to coffee spot for many of the shortland st offices, it might be tiny but packs everything you could want — friendly baristas, great coffee(especially with my fussy taste), delicious muffins, cakes(the ginger bread is unbeatable!) and gourmet sandwiches. If your a regular make sure you buy the $ 22 coffee card — gets you 6 coffees and if your usual is a Large Soy its great value!

Atomic Shortland st is a mini version of Atomic in Kingsland. The staff have good chat and make very good coffee. Sandwiches are pretty tasty(made in the Atomic Kingsland kitchen I believe), if a little on the pricey side. Slices are good and Atomic beans are on sale here too.
