Our favorite new treasure in the desert! Out in the middle of the sand before you hit the water, if you come to a big white building with a black saylor’s skull and a gold star for an eye, you have hit gold! We came here twice on our last stay in Rocky Point and it was the perfect place for us. You walk in to a friendly staff, clean, nice establishment. A HUGE bar, tons of flat screen TV’s line the walls and an open set up with high tops on both sides of the room. Theres a nice stage for live entertainment. But we spent most of our time outside on the BEAUTIFUL patio, and down by the beach. You walk out to a Patio where there is one large TV, a small bar, bench like seating. Then you walk down a few steps in to the sand where there is more seating, corn hole, and a fire pit. There is an opening in the fence so you can walk right on down to the water. Everything is so pretty and clean. The service and food his right on point. The Oyster’s were delicious and fresh. Mexican Style Shrimp cocktail was huge, nice big chunks of shrimp. Both came with some chips, some crackers, and 3 different hot sauces. Saturday night rolled around, The Cardinals were playing to get in to the Playoff’s that night. We decided we watch the game here. This place was PACKED. It was Jammin, just full of Cardinals fans. We sat out on the Patio where there was a Large TV and surround sound. It was January so they lined the patio with heaters. Every time one went out they rolled a new one right back out. It was amazing. Before we ordered our server let us know that the kitchen was very busy. It still only took about 15 minutes for us to get our food. I got the Shrimp and Fish fried basket. I couldn’t stop even after I was miserably full. It was all perfectly battered and cooked. The cocktail sauce and refreshing tartar sauce were both home made and full of flavor. The French Fries were French Fries but I don’t come to Rocky Point for those haha. Our drinks kept coming, the Cardinals won, and we went home happy and full. We are looking forward to our next stay in Rocky Point and I think we will hit this stop up as much as possible. We love this little treasure out in the desert.

Great place, clean establishment, friendly staff, cold beer and tasty food. Sort of remote location so driving is a must. I always stop by when I’m in RP.

The place seemed like it had a cool vibe and potential. I ordered a mango«margarita» at this place. It tasted like mango juice. Charged me $ 6 for the drink(juice). First and only drink I’ll have at this place. Very disappointed.

Love this place and come every time we are in Rocky Point. Great place for Sunday Football and they serve breakfast all day that is super yummy. Ping Pong tables, good music, and the beach right outside. What more could you ask for. Would give a 5 star review but expect to pay US prices when you go here which is why I am giving it 4. Still, worth the stop!

Far from town but so very worth the trip(10 minutes?) Daytime: cool breeze; families; beach; relaxed atmosphere. Evening: music; space; lots of people, lots of life, and, again, cool breeze. Just a fine place for eating, drinking, and/or chilling.

Always a must when in RP/PP! Stopped in 3 times throughout our trip and each time was a blast! By far one of my favorite bars/grills here. The food, atmosphere, drinks, games, etc. are incredible. And the staff is top notch! So courteous and polite! Can’t wait til next trip down here.

We absolutely love this place for the obvious attention to detail and MONEY spent on it, by RP/PP standards. And it’s bigger than it looks from the front. If you like watching sports, there must be at least 10 big-screens. If you like an ocean view, this establishment is on the beach. Good service? Check. Live music? BOOM, done. Food? Pretty good, mostly American. Drink selection? Top-notch. Ambience? Tropical/Beach/Cool. We were there a couple of weeks ago, and we decided that if we had to pick a place to party, casual or dress up, this would be the place. I have to deduct a quarter star for the steps without handrails going down to the outdoor tables, palapas and beach(my feet ain’t so great), but no matter. My friends watch out for me!

I loved this place. I will tell you why. You rent a quad and rip down the dunes beyond where humanity exists. As you ride, your thirst grows exponentially and you start to waver back and forth over the unseen road, which is basically dunes with grooves. As you dodge quad drivers returning form said place, you realize they may have been drinking… on the left, a pirate cove0get wrecked at the Reef. And we did. We sat on the beach and watched peddlers sell tin signs with Superman logos on them. We watched as 18 year olds became legal drinkers and acted like idiots. And we knew, at that moment, that we were in Mexico. The land of no rules. Unless you get arrested and there is no one to save your ass. The fish and shrimp cocktails were super. The service was good, Carne Asada tacos had that little pellet meat, not my thing but totally edible which I was needing. A must do..

Great location on the beach and an awesome live band but BEWARE of drink prices! They think everyone is a drunk tourist and won’t care/pay attention to what they charge. Ordered a round of drinks, went to close out and before I did I asked the waiter to add one more vodka/cranberry on. He came back with the new total, and it was $ 11 more than the original total. But when I called him on it and said that was ridiculous for a well drink and no way was I paying that, he stuttered a little said oops it was supposed to be $ 7 instead, but he already ran my credit card so he brought me $ 4 in cash. It was shady and a total scam. Also, he said the total on my card was $ 37 but they run it in pesos which actually came out to be $ 41. My suggestion is to pay with cash per drink(don’t run a tab) and ask for prices up front! They will try and screw you!

Great spot on the beach. Weekends are the best. Good crowds and music by the house band. Try any of the shrimp menu items. Can’t go wrong. Stop at the bar and say Hi to Chilli. The best and most knowledgable of bar tenders.

We’ve been to Wrecked 3 times in the last 6 months. Love the food and drinks. My wife and daughter keep account of our tab and twice they tried to overcharge us. They fixed it both times but we could tell they were trying to rip us. We will keep going but will keep a count of the cash.

Love this bar! The bartender was super friendly and chatted us up for a while. The layout is pretty awesome with a beach area and a stage. The band was setting up just as we were leaving… we just popped in for a quick drink. Would definitely return! The drink was delicious! We had piña colada with cinnamon.

Do not order the nachos. They use canned nacho cheese. Not your typical nachos. Did not try anything else. Well 2 beers, and the margarita was OK.

I have been coming here for years. And have always had a goid time. Oct 16th my friends and family were here for a few hours and during this the waiter kept sneaking grabs on my girl friends butt. I confronted the waiter and the manager took his side. Then they called the cops on us as if we did something wrong. When I talked to the manager(female with short hair) she immediately got defensive and took the side of the employee. I asked her to call the cops on him cause this isn’t appropriate behavior of staff members. When we started closing our tabs to leave they started added drinks to the tab. I’m very disappointed in this experience and you can expect more reviews from the rest of the party I was with.

Along with the Point on the Malecon in downtown Puerto Penasco and J. J. Cantina’s in Cholla Bay, the Reef is a bar that I try to hit at least once when I am in Puerto Penasco. It has been a ritual of mine for years to stop in and get a Pina Colada there. Having said that, if I had, had to rate the Reef in the old days, I would have only given it three stars. Much as I liked its previous, bright-blue colour and location right on the beach, it was quite basic and rather empty a lot of the time. That has all changed nowadays. The Reef has been renamed Wrecked at the Reef, and it has been given a completely new, sharp, black-and-white colour scheme with a pirate motif throughout. The whole establishment has been spruced up! There is a long inside bar along with a table seating area, and there is an outside patio seating area, as well. The latter opens up onto a beach and the Golf of California. Both have waiters to take your food and drink orders. Inside, there is even a Priestly Confession booth in which one can stand and have a photograph taken. It, also, has quite cool, Reef pirate T-Shirts for fifteen dollars a piece. There is a stage for live music, and bands play there ofttimes on weekends. You can always stop in beforehand and ask what band will be playing on a Friday or Saturday night. Though we did not have any food there, I did see several people’s buying lunch and appetizers whilst we were having our drinks. Right next store, as well, there is a restaurant, Mare Blu, that maintains the bright-blue colour scheme of the old Reef and that has a very good reputation for its cuisine. Oh, and the Pina Coladas at Wrecked at the Reef are still fantastic!

If you go to Rocky Point, this is a must-see bar. It is on the beach, has live music, and is close to the main hotels in the area. Cab fare to this destination is reasonable as long as you negotiate the price beforehand.

Love playing ping pong and corn hole here. Service is typically good. You cannot beat being outside where you are steps from the beach. The outside area is sand and big round tables. The fish and chips are excellent. Good Bloody Mary’s and Margaritas.
