I used to love eating here, but last week that changed. My husband and I ordered the la estancia mushrooms as an appetizer. They come with melted cheese on top. After we had eaten about half, my husband scooped up a bite of mushrooms and melted cheese only to discover a crispy fly that had been cooked into the dish. It was definitely recognizable as a fly. Pretty disgusting. The manager acted like we were crazy when we insisted we shouldn’t have to pay for our dinner because we were so repulsed. I’m never going back.

Great place! A bit difficult to find as it is not on a main road, but definitely worth the search. Coffee was to die for, one of the best I’ve had. I was there for breakfast, had a filet minion which was delicious and cooked to my liking. The tortilla was fresh and very tasty.

Went to La Estancia again, and it is still just as good as all the other times I have been here! Steaks are cooked perfectly over a wood fire, great food, great service, nice atmosphere and décor, one of the hidden gems of Rosarito. Price AWESOME! $ 48.00 for 4(2 New York Steaks, 2 Hamburgers, 4 Tequilas, 1 Margarita, 3 Sodas). Will always come back here!

I came here late on a Saturday night after driving down from Los Angeles. I was tired, cranky and hungry and my fiancé and I didn’t have any idea where to get dinner. Drove down some side street towards the beach and happened across this very unique and nice looking restaurant. Somebody clearly spent the time and imagination to create the exterior and interior ambiance. Nicely done as an old cattle house, I guess is the best way to describe it. Even though, it appeared they were closing,(it was a little after 11 pm), the hostess welcomed us in. The waiter noted that the kitchen was pretty much shutting down and I frankly asked for any combination of meat and vegetables… I was just hungry. Oh boy, was I pleasantly surprised! The chef made some lamb that had clearly been slow cooked in tomatoes, garlic and onions and presented these VERY good meat stew wrapped in tortillas. I got 3 of these quite large rolls and, on the side, an absolutely yummy side of colorful bell peppers, onions and tomatoes… Of course, accompanying this was a side salad, rice and beans. I could not have asked for a more tasteful and pleasing late night dinner out of their accommodating kitchen. To top it off, the bill was probably half of what I would have paid for a comparable dinner in the US. Not to mention, the service was traditionally warm and welcoming Mexican style. I will definitely come back earlier and enjoy the many, many good items that I have seen in the pictures of other peoples Unilocal reviews!

Precio normal y servicio normal.

Been here more than twice I got an amazing service, the food was excellent, the servers awesome, and out of all restaurants here in Rosarito this is by far my favorite. It’s the type of place that instantly grabs your attention and makes you want to go in. The restaurant is pretty big, they have both indoor and outdoor seating, bar area, nice décor, sometimes they have mariachis, other times they have music, not too loud not too soft, the restrooms are clean, and it’s always filled with nice friendly people and tourists. They have a great selection of food on the menu from breakfast, to steaks, to seafood, and drinks as well, and it’s also in both English and Spanish and priced in pesos and dollars. I’ve never had a problem with any of the servers or the food. It’s such a nice charming place and fairly priced.

Off the beaten path this trip down the road near the water wheel is worth the detour. My husband and I eat in Rosarito Beach often and this was a treasure to find. Great atmosphere and even more excellent food. We were pleasantly surprised with the awesome taste of wood grilled steak and lobster WAY better than Puerto Nuevo! Thanks for the great romantic evening & excellent service.
