Bobby’s By The Sea

I had the best time here for New Year’s Eve with our friends. We were a group of 30ish married couples and it was perfect for what we were looking for. Let’s start from the beginning…
1. Isidro was AMAZING! He went out of his way to make sure that we booked condos next to each other so that we would be close to our friends and was helpful every time I called. He even bought us a round of drinks while we waited for our rooms to be ready and sat at the pool.
2. It is VERY dog friendly. They have a cute little dog park for the pups to run around. There were lots of dogs there but all are on leash.
3. The Condos were extremely nice and comfortable (I wanted to take the bed home it was so heavenly) and everything was SO CLEAN! We had a beautiful ocean view which was perfect for our husbands that all surf.
4. According to my husband the surf break in front of Bobby’s is great when there is swell.
5. There is a gym that you can use whenever.
6. The bar and restaurant there are great and fairly priced. Granted they aren’t street priced (like a $ 2 dollar beer or anything super cheap) but everything was still super affordable.
7. They have a some fun games that you can use. We played horseshoes, there is a volleyball court, they even have cornhole!
Bottom line is we had a great time and the place was perfect for us. We usually stay at Gavillotas up the street but this place is going to be our new spot! We loved it!

Bobbys is a great getaway not too far from the border. The food here is very good and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and always available. The rooms are nice, you feel like its your own place, your won condo away from home.

I read a post previously and i was skeptical of this place. Im glad i we went through with staying here cause nothing in that negative post was accurate. I can honestly say that i will never stay anywhere else besides bobbys when visiting the area. First off the manager was 100% professional and even gave us a free upgrade to a 2 room suite because it was 3 of us. The maintenance person and all security personnel were respectful and very helpful when we needed information about the city. The bar tender was really helpful and was very open to conversating and telling us about the city and the best areas to visit. The location was clean, quiet, relaxing and the restaurant and bar areas were inviting and ready to serve at all times. I am looking forward to returning and i highly recommend bobbys to anyone visiting the area.

Had a great experience at Bobby’s. The room was fantastic and the staff was very helpful. Every view from the room was great.
We had drinks at the bar. The bartender took care of of us and made sure all our requests were addressed. I would recommend the mixed cocktails (Pina Colada and Paloma).
Got to spend some time in the pool and jacuzzi. They have two pools with jacuzzis to choose from. One has a view to the beach. The other is nestled in between some suites.
They offer private parking which is under security surveillance 24-​hours a day. They close the gate around 10ish and only guests are permitted to enter after closure.
We are definitely recommending Bobby’s to friends and family.

This place is amazing. I came in, was served fast and the food came out perfectly cooked. This place is worth the stop! I will be back for sure. Thank you guys for taking care of my husband and I !! Can’t wait to come back !!

Worst experience as far as accommodations and customer service go that I’ve ever experienced as for as Mex/​Rosarito goes and I can’t count the amount of times I’ve been there! My husband and I went there for our 10^th anniversary. The place that we normally stay had a pipe burst and a girlfriend of mine had referred Bobby’s. I have been here countless times in the past when Bobby owned it and had been to the bar and stayed a couple times at the places he had above the bar but had not been to stay since the condos where built. We thought, what the heck, we’ll give it a shot. Oh boy! Isidro, the front desk guy, had told me that he reduced the price of the penthouse because the people that were going to stay there cancelled at the last minute. (very smart people)! He then told us that it would be $ 1400 for the 4 nights and would have to be cash because their bank charges them a 30% fee for swiping a credit card! Mistake number one. We got there on our actual anniversary in the evening, so just had time to put our things in the penthouse and off to dinner at El Nidos sister restaurant, Trabano (not sure of the spelling, sorry) which was excellent and highly recommended! We went back to our «penthouse» tried to turn the fans on since it was pretty hot to find that only one of the remotes had a battery for a 3,000+ square foot place. I called down to ask them to bring extra 9 volts to which they said to just use the same battery and swap it in the remotes! Huh? So, whatever. We go to bed to wake up in the middle of the night to ants, spiders and who knows what else, all over our bodies and sheets! We informed Isidro who came in the morning with a pesticide spray and assured us we wouldn’t have anymore problems. I told him to take as long as he wants, we would be gone all day to shop, lunch and dinner with friends. We get back that night and actually stayed in a different bed, hoping and praying we would not have to relive that nightmare and I wouldn’t continue to get eaten alive! Oh no… Lo and behold, we once again wake up in the middle of the night with this same, disgusting problem! We decided that we would just pay for those 2 nights, cut our losses, ask for the remaining amount for the next 2 nights and stay at our friends beach house. NO CAN DO is the response we got! We can not give you any money back! There went the customer service! Needless to say, we avoided the place from morning to night! Then my husband decided to go surfing out front. He put his board in an isolated place on the property, showered, we went down and it’s GONE! STOLEN! There goes the gated, highly «secure» community they brag about. On top of it, every time I would inform them of these things, Christa, whom Isidro told me was the OWNER, would text my friend that referred us, saying I was a «nightmare», etc, etc. Mind you, she had NOTHING to do with any of this! Btw, she IS NOT the owner! Talk about unprofessional? I guess sleeping with creepy critters and getting eaten alive is just the way it is there? Getting your surfboard, also the norm! Btw, the fridge shocks you every time you open it! None the less, my husband and I made the best of our time there AWAY from Bobby’s! But wait, it doesn’t end there! We had breakfast there one of the first days and Isidro then informed us that the credit card machine would be up and running before we leave and we can pay with that! Wouldn’t you know it? The day we GLADLY left, it was working! He charge our newly replaced business card and a week later, our bank calls us to inform us that someone had tried to charge $ 80 at a liquor store in Escondido! So I finally talk to this Christa that has continuously texting and calling my friend, and got a response with her yelling at the top of her lungs at me! Very charming! I could go on, but enough said. I highly recommend to never visit this horror of a place! If you do, I wish you all the luck! I feel very sorry for the people that have bought these condos! We will be going back very soon to Rosarito and staying at friends beach houses, as we intended!

This is the second time I’ve been to Bobby’s, the first being a long time ago. They have been in business a while, and in Mexico that usually means it’s pretty good.
I don’t really recall my last visit as far as taste, so apparently it didn’t leave a great impression. We came in on a Saturday night and it was relatively quite. Maybe it was because it was the weekend before Easter. The good thing was that we got sat immediately.
I started off with a Margarita and we got a basket of garlic bread. The Margarita was OK, and didn’t have much of a kick. The bread was basically and baguette sliced up with butter, garlic and roseay, but overall good. We went with Fettuccini Alfredo and the penne with smoked chicken, mushrooms and olives. The entrees come with a french onion soup or a romaine salad. We went with the soup and again, so far so good. It consisted of broth, onions, and a slice of baguette bread topped with cheese.
The meals came out and they had good presentation. However, as far as flavor, it was pretty average. We could be spoiled due to having great Italian option where were from. Therefore, the meal itself did not blow us away.
Other than that, they had a nice bar and the service was spot on. Maybe we caught them on an off night.
