This was recommended from a cab driver, as many others have also said… You have to wonder if there is some sort of financial benefit to the drivers/restaurant but nevertheless it was good. The view boasted lush mountains, which is different that many views of the sunset that many other restaurants have. The food was good overall. I did not really enjoy the salsa appetizer as one was very spicy and the other was ketchup I think? Decent service and a fun atmosphere.

Wonderful little restaurant in the middle of no where with a view amid the mountains. The food is delicious and fresh They have the best guacamole we had while in Mexico and we ate everywhere. The restaurant was nicely decorated, spacious and clean. Check out my ig and trip advisor for more pic and reviews BklynFrenchGurl

I love this place and especially love the atmosphere. Drinks are really strong and loved the liquor coffee that is on fire. Mariachis make it even a better time. My parents and a friend said this was the best night they have had in years. Will be back in March

Disclaimer – yes my cab driver suggested this and let me know that he gets free food from this establishment if they bring people here. It’s part of his«benefits.» Knowing that, I was still totally on board for giving it a shot and I’m glad I did. We started off with ice cold cerveza and«dry» ceviche, along with gucamole.(yes we are watching our girlish figures.) When the gargantuan seafood platter came by, it was pretty hard not to say yes to everything. Mexican food is my favorite cuisine by far, and Mexican seafood puts me over the edge. So we said yes to the dress… I mean seafood platter for two. It came with 2 lobster tails, huge butterflied prawns, rice, veggies, and god only knows what else. I was in a food coma before the platter even arrived due to our appetizer binge. We opted for the garlic butter option because everything is better with those 2 ingredients. Oh and I forgot to mention that the special included drinks. So for 2 appetizers, 4 beers, the seafood platter, and tip the bill came to $ 105. Pretty smoking deal if you asked me. Even better I didn’t have to buy the cab driver lunch(as I had promised him.)

I was just as surprised at the high ratings here on Unilocal,as I was disappointed when I dined here. This establishment was the«go-to» reference by many, but it was extremely dissapointing, and the prices were higher than most local establishments. I don’t mind paying a higher price for quality, but that was not the case here I’m afraid. The shrimp was decent, not great, but the lobster was NOT good. I don’t mean it just was not tasty, I mean it was bad. It was soft, and mushy, and«yuk» in a shell. The location is nice and local; we got to watch the evening play out for the locals as we ate. The local-ness was one highlight, the free kahlua and milk with our check was the other. There are plenty of other«good» options to choose from in PV(Pipi’s, or Cueto’s), I’d pass on this spot.

Their large shrimp cocktail had less shrimp then the small cocktails from other places. Coconut shrimp was way over cooked and the coconut was black not a light brown. Their kids menu includes only chicken fingers at a very steep high price. Place is way over priced. Visit a better location like restaurant Tino’s or cuetos.

Amazing seafood. Fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine. We had lobster, shrimp ceviche, shrimp empanadas, and soft shell crab tacos. The empanadas were amazing! Literally one of the best things I ate my whole trip. Hoping this place gets more love on Unilocal because we just came here from a recommendation from our Hotel concierge and it was an amazing find. Worth the trip!

I realize that everyone has a different tastes and different budgets. What I can’t understand is why I can’t find any reviews that reflect what I experienced. I had two great waiters that watched over the 3 adults and 2 small kids at my table the whole time. I had the very best coconut shrimp I’ve ever had and I’ve been to a lot of restaurants across the Americas. We had great drinks, they gave us free shots the deserts included corn ice cream served in corn that was unbelievably creamy. The other shrimp dishes were fantastic including the bacon wrapped shrimp garlic shrimp and shrimp skewers. Granted, we didn’t order the big expensive lobsters but I felt the quality and price and service was better than any other place we’ve been in PV so far. We’re going back tonight so if my experience is any different from 2 days ago I will update my review.

On the advice our or cab driver, we took a chance on this place«the happy lobster». In a decent part of town, overall environment was nice open air floor plan, service was adequate. The special that even was pretty amazing; we received three lobster tails, four giant prawns, salad, drinks, and two orders of the ceviche, one prawn one fish. Total price $ 97 usd. Pretty fantastic, the food was great.

Asked taxi cab driver for us opinion of El Colegita Seafood restaurant and he advised that he preferred this place, La Langosta Feliz, so we gave it a shot. Place was great, food was delicious. Nice view of the green mountains.

We ended up here because we asked our cab driver for his favorite place for fresh delicious seafood and he brought us here. The food was greasy and awful, I couldn’t even finish mine and my partner had a fish that he said was edible but still not good. On our cab ride away from this place we flat out asked the driver how much these people are paying cab drivers to bring tourists here and he said the price varies. I was so angry I wasted my last night in Vallarta having a disgusting dinner so they could make a couple extra bucks. We weren’t the only unhappy diners that night either for the same reason. Avoid!

Don’t pay any attention to the bad reviews over the price. We ended up here on our way to PV from Yelapa… Every single bite was worth every peso! We will be back. Gracias!!!

The coconut shrimp are the best I have ever had! They are much better than Blue shrimp restaurant, however the ambiance is far below. The platters are huge and will feed three, the menu states platter for two. We custom made our platter and never a problem… just always ask how much first! All seafood fresh and good. Location not the best, in a residential area high up a hill, but the view is nice. Noisy restaurant and brighter lighting than I would like. We keep coming back for the huge coconut Shrimp though.

I really enjoyed this place although they seemed to have steeper pricing for tourists. The same seafood platter that I found at Café De Olla was 1400 peso’s here($ 107.00) — double the other place — however, still worth the price for freshness and compared to the U.S. My friend and I shared the stone crab cocktail — awful — tasted like it was crab out of a can so I sent it back and they took it off the bill(I thought I was going to have to argue with them — so that was a pleasant surprise). Then my friend had butterflied HUGE shrimp and I had the 1lb Lobster(mine was 350 peso’s — a great price for Lobster approx. $ 27USD. We started with a tart Margarita — strong but really tart, then I also had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc — it was ok. Just kind of a strange place — one great result of going there was it had rained earlier — kind of a flash flood rain in the streets. The restaurant is up some stairs and it had this beautiful view of the mountains with several waterfalls coming down the sides from the rain. It was a beautiful site. They had some loud mariachi guys — I thought they sounded pretty good for that type of music, but we looked down and away when they came by our table — No Thanks. Seemed like we had a sign on our face from everyone when we walked into the place — Hey, Let’s take these Gringo’s for a few extra dollars — !! And our old waiter reminded me of a guy I used to wait tables with at Christopher’s in Pittsburgh. Too old to care about etiquette — ‘get’em in and get’em out’ he would say. Good Food selectively, Nice View, Reasonable Service — there are just so many places to dine in Puerto Vallarta — No Bueno.
