They made us wait 1.30h it was ridiculous. Everyone complained. Plus they Treated Mexicans better, for them they got free drinks and dessert for waiting, for us they got no shit! Will Never return, the owner doesn’t give a shit about the improvement of the place. People keep leaving the tables because the food is 1h late

This is a must. The food is excellent, service impeccable and totally authentic. We were here for lunch. We talked with folks who ate dinner here and everyone loved it. Primo place.

Our concierge recommended we try Gabys for lunch. It’s a short walk up the hill just a couple blocks from the church. Well worth the work! We started with the authentic, fresh-made guacamole — perfect with the cervezas and margaritas! My wife had the chicken burrito and I had the shrimp tacos. Both were a delight — perfect temperature and flavor. It was hot outside, so we chose a table with air conditioning. Although close quarters, we struck up conversations with the other people in the room. The only hitch was that the credit-card machine was down. Hmm. Could it be that the owner doesn’t like paying the cc service fee? Likely — but we had the cash, so it wasn’t a big deal. So, bring some pesos, get a some margaritas and order the guacamole. Have fun!

Amazing restaurant and attentive staff! We had just flown in and needed dinner quickly, so we asked a cabbie to take us to a good mexican restaurant. Lucky for us, he chose Gaby’s! HUGE margaritas, healthy portions, and a friendly wait staff made this restaurant a new favorite for us. One of the men that works there also makes his own tequila, and my husband LOVED it. He said it was the purest he had ever tasted. They offer full bottles for sale. We will be back next trip!

My family ran across this gem four years ago on vacation and have come back once a year since! The candy shop down the street or the tequila store on the malecon(beside the lighthouse) will give you coupons for free Guacamole. We’ve come to know the owner and he recognizes us each year. He interacts with the kids by doing a few small tricks at the table. I say it’s for the kids, but we all enjoy it. Every year we see something we want to try the next year. For instance this year several of us had«Caesars Special» that consisted of fresh prawns and veggies, cooked table side – delicious! We finished off dinner with fruit and bananas foster, also made table side. Before leaving we saw another table ordered«Caesars coffee», which made my notes for next year. There seems to be a theme of a dish is «Caesars» it usually involves fire. If you happen to be there at dusk they project Linda Rondstadt music videos on the wall of the neighboring building. Can’t say enough good things about Ceasar and the staff at Gaby’s-great food, great service! See you next year Caesar!

We are both vegetarians and this place went beyond the typical! The salads were generous and our chimichangas were perfect. The sangria was the best of our 2 weeks! The bill with tip was $ 50.00!!!

We had great food at this authentic Mexican restaurant. Gaby’s is known for their moles and in this they didn’t disappoint. But before I get to the food let’s start with the tamarind Cadillac margarita. So big, and so tasty I almost wasn’t able to finish my meal(don’t worry, I finished it :). And the location with the terrace overlooking the street with a view to the ocean wasn’t too shabby either. Now the food: to start I had the tortilla soup which was the best tortilla soup I’ve ever had(and I love tortilla soup). I followed this up with a chimichanga platter and my friend had the combination platter which had several small entrees highlighting various moles. They were both *excellent*. We left full and happy. If we had any complaints I would say it was the service which wasn’t bad but seemed a little confused. But the food and the ambiance were as advertised. Go here and enjoy…

the concierge at my hotel told me about this place as we asked for authentic Mexican food! he was right on point the food was amazing and the service was great as well. It was a little quite the night we were there but I can see how it could get busy. They have a balcony area as well as terrace. They project videos on the building directly across the street giving it a great affect. I totally recommend this place if ur looking for a good authentic Mexican restaurant.
