We made a reservation on line, but when got to the restaurant, we were told they need an 18 hour advance notice on email reservations. He said it would be impossible to accommodate us that evening. He was incredibly pompous. The restaurant was not even full yet. He did not even try to see if he could accommodate us. We had eaten here last year and we remembered it was the same pompous guy you would not accommodate us without a reservation. I understand that part, but there is no reason to treat customers as inferior to him. We decided to not ever return here again.

pros: service was superb awesome wine menu appetizer and entrees were excellent clean restaurant walking distance to romantic zone(gay neighborhood) and near puerto vallarta downtown malecon area cons: dessert did not meet expectations since it tasted like a cake mix such as duncan hines. décor needs improvement too pal on the walls i would return on a future trip. however, i would skip the dessert.

We had dinner last night at Bravos for New Years. Best dinner in Puerto Vallarta, hands down. Service was excellent, and the owner Mike is a very gracious host. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and service you get. Will be going there again for dinner before our vacation here ends. Our waiter Jose catered to our every need. Bravo to Bravos!

Bravo to Brovo’s We left the condo to get tacos and they were closed! So we went here instead. Two bottles of wine later… And we had such a classy dinner! This was by far the most attentive service I have ever had at a restaurant. They gave us clean glasses with each bottle of wine. They took our used flat wear as soon as each course left. Our server was well informed and very friendly. Each couple shared a serving of clams. These clams were in fact dead… But they were fresh and swimming in a perfectly seasoned sauce. They fly them in to the airport and Bravo pick them up there daily. Dang. Our meals were stunning. Lamb, chicken, and pasta… All absolutely stunning. This is worth the money and time spent. Do yourself a favor and visit Bravos.

My wife and I visited twice and we can’t say enough great things about Bravos. The staff were very friendly, knowledgable and attentive. The food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. We booked reservations as we were told between 6:30 and 8:30 the place is packed. We ate at 6:00 both times which was perfect, as I don’t like it too crowded, and you could see it was starting to get busy. We had the crab cakes, Cesar’s salad, chicken supreme, coconut shrimp: perfect. They are updating right now(and the whole street is being re-paved) but you would never know when you are inside. A lovely, peaceful romantic meal. Tip: the slice of carrot cake is so huge 4 people could share it! Thanks Michael, we will definitely be back and will be telling our friends to visit. Not that you need the publicity being the top rated restaurant on Trip Advisor.

I had the ribeye and it was terrible! The only reason why I am giving them a 4 is because the ribs were excellent and the Cesar salad was also pretty good. The service was excellent and the ambience was cute.

We found this wonderful place on line. Made reservations a few weeks in advance. Michael ensured our party was well in hand. Edmond, our incredible waiter, ensured all were happy. I don’t recall eating with a large table, last, when every single person was happy and felt their dish«won». Thank you, Bravo team! Incredible meal. Bravo!

I read the excellent reviews online and decided to make a reservation for our final night in PV. I wasn’t disappointed! Within 10 minutes of making a reservation request online, I had confirmation of our table. I also commented that one of our party eats gluten free. The reply said, «not to worry, 80% of the menu is gluten free». Wonderful! The moment we sat down we were greeted by the friendly host. We were well looked after by all the staff. We both had a delicious meal and have a happy memory to go home with. We *will* be back! Given that this is quite a small restaurant I would suggest making a reservation while probably not essential, is a good idea.

This is a place not to miss while in Puerto Vallarta. Open for dinner only, closed Monday. We started going here two years ago when Michael opened the restaurant. I told him Bravos would be rated #1 and it is. Absolutely fantastic place to dine. Food is wonderful and staff is outstanding. If you are looking for tacos and enchiladas this isn’t the place. But if you want a great meal, air conditioned, friendly waitstaff then go to Bravos. Tell Michael that Donna sent you!

Have dined here numerous times and it keeps getting better. Caesar Salad is my favorite in town. Service and presentation is spot on without being pretentious. Improvements in décor and noise muffling are great. Owner Michael is on top of his game! Subdued elegance with ac in the summer! Rare!

After days of inclusive resort cuisine this was a welcomed respite. For $ 58USD we had 2 appetizers, a salad, 2 steaks with sides, a giant slice of red velvet cake, coffee, a glass of wine and a bottle of sparkling water! The service was outstanding and the ambience was great. We were so satisfied with our meal and would definitely come back again.

This place was one of the top meals we had in PV. The portions were good and the prices were not too bad. The short ribs were amazing and so tender. The menu had some pretty good options. I would definitely return.

After diving I asked Sue(the dive guide) where should I take my family to dinner. Without a moments hesitation she said«Bravos!» Then another local spoke up and started reciting their favorite items on the menu. It was as if they were competing which favorite item of theirs was better. Obviously we went that night. Every aspect of the dinner was thoughtful. We felt like we not just welcome but that we were family. The drinks, house malbec, calimari, bang bang shrimp, entrees and the two desserts were magnificent. Unfortunately, the table before us got the last piece of carrot cake but the two we choose in its place were amazing. They even made fresh, hand-breaded chicken tenders for my seven year old. Talk about making his day. While eating at Bravos(and a half a bottle of wine later) my wife leans over and says«I could live in Puerto Vallarta.» A very high compliment given my wife’s apprehension when we first got to PV. Bravos was the crescendo of her stay and I am thankful for leaving my family as pleased as I was.

What a difference a season can make. Maybe they have a new chef but the food this trip was a real disappointment and we were really looking forward to returning. To their credit they replaced the Pan Bimbo dinner rolls with something a little more appropriate to a fine dining restaurant — sadly served ice cold. Salad was nothing exciting but edible but the ribs I had were truly awful but then I’m almost always disappointed in the ribs in PV. Their idea of ribs is to boil them and then slather them in something too sweet resembling ketchup — same at Bravos. Place was packed to the rafters though with a very blue haired gringo crowd so apparently that’s the crowd they’re cooking for. Bland to the max. No rush to return.

Excellent! Food, service, everything. We tried a lot of the recommendations and we’re not disappointed. Caesar salad is a must, as well as the carrot cake for dessert. It’s huge… share. Oh and make a reservation, they’re really busy. Entrees we loved: lamb shank, risotto, and pork chop!

My wife and I went here tonight for our last meal in PV. We enjoyed our evening here. I was nice to take a break from the usual other places we like to dine in town. First impression was great. We were greeted with a smile and felt very welcomed. Our server and table help also made us feel really welcomed(for us, this is important). Appetizers and main course was great. Overall good experience. We will plan to return next time. We had: CHEESEBOARD $ 100 Assortment of local and imported cheeses with fruits and candied nuts, served with garlic-baked crostini GOURMAND $ 75 Walnuts, strawberry, goat’s cheese, roasted red peppers with spring mix lettuce and tossed with our house honey lime mustard dressing BUTTERCHICKENRISOTTO $ 180 Sautéed chicken, stewed in house made butter chicken sauce topped with red peppers and chive cream, or served over basmati rice BAKEDCHEESECAPPELLETTI $ 160 Stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan cheeses and baked in a rosé sauce with more cheese. Added crispy bacon And coffee for dessert.

Gets a resounding round of applause from Tom S. This is a super spic n’ span restaurant with style, panache, friendly folks and very good eats. The cuisine is quite tasty but not world class. If you visit PV often you know that world class restaurants don’t exist here. Foodwise, the most fancy & expensive restaurants in this town can not compete against the middle of the pack eateries in San Francisco, NYC, NOLA, Seattle or Miami. I think that too many Unilocaler reviews about restos and hotels in Puerto Vallarta just gush 5 star accolades when the places are merely adequate. Must be the copiously consumed tequila talkin’. OK, end of persnickety rant. Bravos is owned and carefully supervised by the nicest guy. The staff are all charming. The cooks do coax bold flavors from the fresh ingredients. The menu features what’s good and locally sourced. Full bar makes decent cocktails. The wine list is paltry compared to any eatery(even a pub that makes hamburgers) at home in the Sonoma valley of California. Though I was happy enough with the bottle of Pinot noir offered. Tariff: 1 shared Cesar salad, 2 fish dinner plates, 2 glasses wine, 2 bottles mineral water, one carrot cake &2 tiny cups espresso = 900 pesos with tip. Expensive by local comparison to any groovy restaurant on calle basilio badillo. And click on my other reviews to read about the delicious meal that Bambie & I had in the municipal market for 80 pesos. Bravos has more refined food than most of those places, & certainly a much more pleasant dining room. Go! Enjoy! Just don’t expect to see God like other reviewers said that they did here on Unilocal or TripAdvisor.

Bravos is one of the best restaurant in Old Town no doubt. The place is always crowded. We were there Thursday Nov 20th about 6:45 and there were plenty of tables, but it was full by the time we left. The food is international gourmet, but with sizable portions. Also they have a large number of non-meat choices for the vegetarian and fish eating crowd. My wife and I started with splitting a bowl of Cream of Mushroom soup. Even a half serving was a lot and the flavors were outstanding. It set up the rest of the meal. I had a Parmesan crusted tilapia. Normally Tilapia is not my favorite fish, but this was superb. My wife had the Baked Cheese Capellletti and loved it. Every dish we saw go by to other tables looked and smelled great. The service is leisurely, but attentive, and they will modify their ingredients to suit your dietary requirements when possible. The owner, who I believe is American or Canadian, comes around and greets every table. You absolutely cannot go wrong eating here. The only thing that could arguably be improved is that they serve simple store bought rolls(bolillos), although even these come with a homemade chipotle flavored butter that makes them special
