Great bar food on 5^th street. Probably the best chicken wings in Carmen del Playa. Don’t miss the jalapeño poppers.
Make sure to get a street front table to watch the action on 5^th.

If you feel like having Mexican-​American food here is the place for you. The server is very nice but kind of slow because they don’t have enough staff I believe. We got the nacho and it was pretty good.

The place to pre game ! They have so many mixed shots options ! All pretty strong the bartender was new but kept his cool as we orders shots and kept asking what kind of alcohol they had

This is s great place to drop in and drink! Everyone is always having a great time and the drinks are reasonable. We stopped in to watch a ball game and this bar was the loudest in the area, probably because of the tequila!

Two very big thumbs up for this place. We were on vaca in riviera maya and looking for a 1080 HD screen to watch the 2015 NCAA basketball championship game. Our hotel was inadequate and we wanted to get the US feed so we could hear some analysis, some commentary.
This bar was excellent! They were very accommodating and the atmosphere was great. Beef tacos and burgers were very good and plenty of good tequila shots to choose from. There is also a legal betting salon in the back of the bar so you can place a wager on the event you are watching. Beer list is limited, but I’m nitpicking at this time. I would add great service by the wait staff as well.

Walked past this place on 5^th ave off of 10^th st and had to stop in. The (Dance/​House) music was pumping, the vibe was fun, and the tequila was flowing. I tried a new tequila called SALT– it’s smooth and I loved it. Must go!

I always stop by here a couple of times when I have visited PDC the past 5 years. It is a fun and hopping place that has some great 80’s music and videos mixed in with current high octane music. The sports theme is nice and all in all, it is probably the best thing for tourists who want a break from the norm in the area and get a little bit of the U.S. back in their blood.
The margaritas are good but nothing special. It’s a high volume place so it isn’t like they are taking their time in handcrafting a work of art in a glass so if you are expecting that, go to maybe a smaller place that takes more time. This is all about the loud music, the sports, the show (dancing on the bar) and the bartenders doing the bottle flips, etc. It definitely has a place down here.
The food is also pretty solid for a bar.

La quinta avenida de Playa del Carmen siempre me sorprende, con la variedad de gente que te puedes encontrar. Hay un bar que siempre me ha llamado la atención, hasta que un día me aventuré a conocerlo y vivir la experiencia, el tan popular Tequila Barrel. Lo encontrarás en la mismísima quinta avenida, entre calle diez y doce.
El ambiente es entretenido, súper americano pero con el cliché mexicano. La especialidad de la casa son las hamburguesas, alitas y costillas BBQ, para darle fuerza al estómago y resistir la noche de fiesta playense. Para beber, tienen una amplia carta de tragos, donde podrás encontrar cervezas, margaritas y no hay que olvidar al señor tequila para tomar buena fiesta.
Cuando la noche se pone algo más intensa, hay niñas que se suben a la barra donde hay un tubo donde bailan y dan tragos a los chicos que se encuentran alrededor de la barra.
Toda una gran experiencia locochona gringa en México.

Es un lugar para tomar y tomar y tomar. Es un lugar tex-​mex, especialmente para extranjeros que si bien no es mi máximo, tiene lo suyito.
No importa a qué hora pases, siempre hay montón de gente pasándola bien, se arma un súper relajo y se escucha por todas partes que la están pasando bomba.
Llámenme feminista, pero el tubo como para que se suban las chavas a bailar y la onda de subirse a la barra por un trago gratis, a mi en lo particular, me parece de muy mal gusto y no me llama para nada la atención.Pero bueno, para muchos ese es un súper detalle y cada punto se respeta. Es un bar para hacer lo que se espera de tu viaje en el Caribe, enfiestarte en grande.
Tiene precios moderadamente altos y siempre hay promos, se pone wild. Si andas buscando una fiesta loca muy al estilo americano, este es el lugar.

Bueno Tequila Barrel nos deja sin palabras cada alta temporada, todos sabemos lo que sucede en la barra, que se agradece bastante que cuente con «tubo» para que las damas bailen y los caballeros disfrutemos.
La cerveza es de buen precio, los tequilazos son lo mejor y muy bien servidos, ademas de que no puedes dejar de voltear a tu alrededor para curiosear toda la decoración tan entretenida que hay por todo el lugar.
La música se agradece, ya que es popular pero muy bien seleccionada.
El servicio si eres hombre, te encantara, ya que las chicas mas guapas te atenderán, ademas de que son eficientes y muy buena onda.
Este lugar es diversión pura y exhibicionismo.
No necesita recomendaciones ya que estoy seguro de que es de los lugares mas concurridos de la 5ta AV.

Otro lugar bien preparado para que el extranjero se sienta como en casa y el local se divierta con ellos. Entre buena música y deportes en las pantallas, verás correr las cubetas de cerveza y algo de comer. En cuanto a la comida, recomiendo la pasta Thai o la típica hamburguesa, que siendo honestos, viene muy bien servida. Tienen algunas promociones que cambian dependiendo el día y la hora, pero siempre hay forma de que no gastes tanto.
Hace algún tiempo, se llevó a cabo una ampliación en la parte trasera en donde se puede disfrutar como aficionado profesional y de primer nivel, lo mejor de los deportes de los Estados Unidos. Hay muchas mesas en la parte de afuera, pero también adentro hay buen ambiente. El servicio es bueno a secas. Hay que preguntar por las y tarjetas VIP. Vale la pena.

Tequila Barrel es uno de los lugares más animados de la quinta avenida, algo tendrá que ver que le dan shots gratis a las chicas que se suban a bailar en la barra (si pasa).
La verdad es un lugar acogedor con buena música botanas y antojitos variados y varias televisiones para ver vídeos de música y deportes. El personal principalmente es femenino y las chicas son verdaderamente simpáticas. Siéntate aquí a ver pasar las tarde.
Quiero destacar que es de los pocos lugares donde los bartenders hacen flair (avientan botellas y eso).
En la parte de atrás el ambiente cambia a un profesional centro de apuestas deportivas por sí te sientes con suerte.
De los pocos lugares que tienen gente todos los días y a todas horas. Eso dice algo de ellos.

This past Saturday while vacationing in PDC, we decided to checkout the downtown scene and leave the resort for a bit. We aren’t into the club scene so this bar seemed a good spot, and the betting area in the back had air conditioning which is a huge win in these parts.
We didn’t order any food, so I cannot comment on that however we felt comfortable hanging out in the back area and although we weren’t betting, just sat at the bar and had some beers.
Originally we ordered a Tecate and an Indio before considering specials. I inquired and the bartender told us that they had Tecate buckets for only a little more than double the price of 1 Tecate. I asked if we could retroactively apply this which she said we could and sent 4 more our way.
6 beers was about 25 with tip. That’s American prices, but that’s what we expected and had an enjoyable time. The bartender was very friendly but not very inspired, however after a week of fighting off aggressive salespeople left and right, this was greatly appreciated.

My brother, sister in law and I stopped here to have a few drinks after a day of excursions. The atmosphere was the most hopping on avenida Quinta. We ended up moving because a few ppl near us were smoking even though there were cler signs saying no smoking… After we moved we ended up with Sophie as our server. She was AMAZING!!! She was very tentative even with many other tables and so cute! We loved her! Would def go back because of her!

My boyfriend told me he had been here years ago to place a sports bet so we went inside to do the exact same thing and grab a drink. Service was quick we received our beers and tequila shots. We also ordered the chicken fajitas nachos which were amazing. No complaints out of me. Going back tomorrow might try something new :)

Strong drinks and great views at this open-​air sports bar/​club. Servers were very nice and much more attentive than other local places. I was there in the afternoon, before it turns into a «club.» I can imagine it gets crazy at night with huge signs posted like «free shots for girls who dance on the bar». But at least during the day, it is a casual, perfectly-​located spot for good classic antojitos and drinks, right smack san in the middle of Avenida 5.

We stopped for drinks on Friday night. It’s an awesome place… It is full even on slow season!
