Journeys Beyond the Surface

I highly recommend this tour company! From the beginning of researching tours I found great reviews and now I know why. The lady who runs the company was professional, concerned, and followed through on everything. My husband and I did 3 tours with this company. Sergio took us to the pyramids and was a wealth of knowledge regarding the history. He was sweet, considerate, and a joy to be around for the day. He selected a great restaurant we all ate at and kept a great sense of humor with all questions. The next day we did a historical tour with Alvaro who was also wonderful. An artist with great understanding of Diego Rivera, as well as other great murals & the artist’s view. We enjoyed these tours so much we scheduled a day trip to Taxco with Sergio later in the week. You may spend a bit more than the typical group tours but they are so worth it! Go enjoy this amazing country and it’s wonderful people!

I did 2 day tours with Journeys Beyond the Surface and they were both superb. The first was led by Alvaro, a sculptor and artist himself. We toured the historical area, and he filled me in on the history of Mexico, the rulers and the politics. His explanation of the Diego Rivera mural was superb. We then went to several other museums, and he continued to fill me in. It was just a great day, and he was perfect.
Then the following day I went to Chapultec castle with Sergio. His explanation at the Anthropology museum is wonderful for anyone who wants a deep understanding of the history and cultures of Mexico. I highly recommend both tours.
