The food is awesome! But the BEST part is meeting the owner, Hector. His English is excellent, and he loves to explain the menu and ingredients of his authentic local food. This spot is frequently full of airlines crews, so it MUST be good!
From the airport take the bridge to the Camino Real Hotel, go out the front door and turn right. Take the next right and you’ll see the sign for Hector’s.

We have all probably been warned when traveling to Mexico to not go outside of the airport. Well, this restaurant is worth the small walk just across the street and totally safe. This wonderful place is a frequent flyer for airport crews. Let’s begin…
Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by the one and only Hector. He warmly shook our hands and asked our names, welcomed us in and to a table. As we say, he gave us a very fun history of his place. We were then brought chips and dips. The chip plate was fit with an amazing assortment of bean dip and guacamole. The service was amazing. The food… Second to none. I had Beef tacos that were cooked and seared with onion and topped with cheese. I’ve attached a photo.
It was an amazing experience that I would recommend for anyone.

The food was good, but the owner made the experience a delight! We were so pleased to eat outside the hotels and airport we went for dinner and breakfast the next day as well. Really, really cold sodas, too (gotta love that). We’ll go back without a doubt. Enter as customers, leave as friends. Fabulous!

If you’re aircrew on a MEX layover, this is the place for you. Large menu and I’ve always been pleased with whatever selection I make. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the owner (Hector) will go out of his way to ensure you have an enjoyable experience. Pesos or US dollars are accepted. Open until 8pm.
