This was probably our favorite restaurant there. Absolutely loved the breaded lamb leg, fried calamari, spicy potatoes, and tiramisu. The brucheta could be improved– for some reason ours had a very burnt taste(over toasted). Pizza was so so.

This was hands-down the best meal we had during our entire week in Cancun. If you’re anywhere near the Paradisus Cancun resort you must try this tapas restaurant! The hostess Karla greeted us warmly, immediately seated us at a lovely spot and checked in after our meal to ensure our experience was enjoyable. Our waiter, Leo(Leonardo), was one of the most attentive, gracious servers we’ve ever had. As native Seattleites, we know good food and this spot is definitely a 5+ in terms of delicious food and service. Highly highly recommended. We will definitely be back!

«Now mama don’t you worry none From small things, mama Big things one day come» (Bruce Springsteen — From Small Things(Big Things One Day Come) Vento is a tapas restaurant located off one of the spokes of the Paradisus central atrium. It offers four salads, eleven cold tapas or small plates, fifteen hot tapas, and five dessert tapas. It’s quite an elegant restaurant. You have the choice of sitting outside the main dining room in the atrium, or in the main dining room, which we chose. But we noticed it was noisy inside– perhaps a result of the open kitchen and bar areas that weren’t too far from our seats, so we heard the shake, rattle, and roll of every dish, pot, and pan. Before we ordered, we were served a welcome drink that was excellent(some sort of strawberry and vodka concoction) and a basket with two small loaves of bread. The waiter very ceremoniouslly poured oil and a splash of vinegar into our three bread plates. We had a blast ordering. The waiter suggested we each order one salad, one cold tapas and four hot tapas. So we ended up with like 20 different things that all looked beautiful. My wife and son ordered the mozzarealla pizza from the hot menu, but it wasn’t hot at all– kind of unappealingly warm. Here is my report on the tapas I tried: The greek salad was very good– lots of olives, which as an olive guy I appreciated, plus diced tomatoes, onions, peppers and crumbled feta cheese. An excellent cold soup(Ajo Blanco) served in what looked like a test tube with about a quarter cup of shrimp tartar. The shrimp tartar was delicious. Charcoal grilled octopus was a big chunk of an octo’s tentacle served with potatoes in a sweet paprika oil. I didn’t care for this at all. I’ve had octopus a few times and liked it, but this dish tasted a lot stronger than I expected. Black Baby Squid over wild rice — not a fan — it just wasn’t something I liked, aesthetically so and taste wise. Pan fried shrimp with curry and chick peas over wild rice. Wonderful — my favorite dish of the evening — just bursting with flavor. I would have loved a big plate of it. Braised Veal Cheek with cauliflower and mushrooms. It had a very soft and delicate texture and was pretty good. King scallops with a green bean and pork ragout — another very good dish. Dessert tapas on the menu were a variety of sorbets, churros, ice creams, tiramiso and a custard. I ordered the vanilla custard, and it was very ordinarily flan-like. On the other hand, the Nutella ice cream was absolutely sensational. Our server was helpful and not intrusive, he explained the tapas concept and was swift in clearing the table and refilling the beverages. All in all, we had an enjoyable time and a pretty good meal.

Paradisus was my first experience at an all-inclusive resort. I’ve always been skeptical about the food/drink quality at all-inclusives, but Paradisus exceeded my expectations! Vento is the Mediterranean tapas restaurant on the property. My husband and I made reservations with another couple who was celebrating their anniversary. You have the option to sit inside, or «outside» which is really within the building, but in a large atrium made to look like it’s outside. We sat inside, where it’s quite dark, but at a nice large comfortable booth(and with air conditioning!). Our server explained the concept to us shortly after being seated — everything on the menu is very small, and he recommended how many items we should order from the cold and from the hot tapas. Everything we ate was delicious, from the octopus to the scallops, duck, and everything in between! The amazing meal was topped off with tastings of four different desserts. My advice — make sure you hit the restaurant and try as many items off the menu that you can! You won’t regret it!

Boom! This place is GREAT! This was actually the last restaurant at Paradisus we tried, and I guess fate had us save the best for last. Everything we had was excellent. I can’t complain about the appetizers, the soup or the entrees. It is a small area located outside of the Naos Buffet center near some water with Koi and a waterfall… very nicely structured and cozy. It is done like a normal Tapas restaurant and they recommend you pick 3 cold and 3 hot a long with either a salad or a soup. I picked 3 cold and 4 hot because I’m an indecisive little piggy. :) For the cold: I had the salmon stuffed Pepper which I’d give 8⁄10 on I had the Foie Gras Crème Brulee which gets a perfect 10⁄10 I had the Spanish Tortilla which I’d give 8⁄10 on For the hot: I had the duck breast, which I’d give 8⁄10 on I had the tenderloin medallion which I’d give 9⁄10 on(with a curve based on the fact I could not find decent steak in Mexico all trip) I had the sea bass which I’d give 8⁄10 on I had the crispy Polenta which I’d give 9⁄10 on The soup was french onion and was average, and probably the only thing I can’t rave about compared to the rest of the meal. This is a place I’d have gone to more than once if it had more options, but unless you want to repeat some of the things you ate(which I’m not against), you can just hit up one of the other restaurants for variety. A MUST try for Paradisus.

With only one 5 star review about this place I thought I’d give it a try before leaving. Why didn’t I go here sooner! The menu is definitely a step up from every restaurant here. They even have foie gras and truffle! Some expensive ingredients. Will update more later after dinner. Late on the update but this place was amazing! The beef medallion with truffle mashed potatoes is a must have! It just melts in your mouth. Definitely order a lot since the portions are about the size of your palm. Plus it’s all inclusive so why not pig out :) Would have liked to try more stuff but since it was or last night for dinner we decided to restaurant hop over to the Brazilian market grill; will have review of that place as well.

The most amazing dinner of our entire vacation was had right here at Vento. The concept is a Tapas restaurant, and they encourage you to try as many as you wish from both the cold and warm side of the menu. Every single item we selected was delicious, however the charred octopus, grilled shrimp on creamy risotto, beef medallion with truffled mash, and fried chicken with polenta were the stand-outs. As a bonus the atmosphere is amazing, as you are in the atrium of one of the pyramids, surrounded by small waterfalls, koi ponds, natural foliage, and of course the modern design of this fantastic restaurant. Highly, Highly recommend. Also, Thank you to Leo, our friendly waiter who was on the spot our entire meal.
