This review is based on the restaurant being a resort restaurant. Since the resort isn’t close to anything, I’m going to automatically know that food and transportation costs are going to be higher. Yes, the food is pricier than if you were living at home with a car, but given the alternative($ 30 – 40 for a cab into town) the price is very competitive. Most dishes were priced between $ 15 – 22 after conversion, which is pretty nice compared to US restaurants that routinely charge $ 18 – 30 for sub-par food. The food is surprisingly good. It’s not something you will rave about and crave months later but it more than gets the job done. It’s delicious most of the times I ate there(I’m at the resort for a week so I’ll probably end up eating there over ten times) and adequate the other times. I suspect that the ratings are lower because people are comparing it to non-resort restaurants(I would never make this a destination restaurant, the price is not competitive in that respect). However, if you are staying at the resort this restaurant is a godsend. I’m so happy to have an on-site restaurant that serves above-average food at reasonable prices considering the distance from the city. This food blows away most hotel food in the US on both a price and flavor scale.

The food is ok but I had better Mexican food else where. Way overpriced. If you staying at Sirena Del Mar Resort, make sure to go to downtown for food or buy stuff to cook or make. Food here is not worth the price. They either lower the prices or re-do their menu & hire awesome chefs. The Resort is great though but a little too far from downtown.

Way overpriced for decent food in Mexico. Definitely doesn’t give you an authentic Mexican flavor but then again it’s at a resort. I had both some of the worst cheesecake I have ever had, and in a trained pastry chef so I know how it should be done. They tried to make up for it by giving me a Tres Leches dessert to go, and it was so bad I spit it out. For two small pieces of cheesecake they charged $ 20. It tasted like they accidentally used salt in place for the sugar! Wow! They never gave us napkins when we went out for dessert so we had to use the table cloth. Dinner was fine, just tasted like any decent restaurant anywhere else, nothing special at all. I wouldn’t waste my money there, drinks are also insanely pricey. I recommend taking the bus to Walmart and doing your own cooking, they have same nice grills at the resort where you can make a way better dinner for way less!

People talked about the prices but what we ordered wasn’t bad. We had nachos… 2 days in a row and they were fabulous alongside the cerveza and margaritas we were drinking. I also had the chicken Alfredo. It was tasty and they weren’t chinchy with the Alfredo sauce. Eric is a very nice bartender and will point you in the right direction for drinks to order. The manager Jorge is a very nice guy that is very interested in your opinions of the restaurant. He hadn’t heard of Unilocal so we explained it to him and told him about the negative reviews. I love it when a mgr rashes ownership in the establishment and just wants to make it better. He compted us breakfast and gave my husband his card to send him the honest truth of what we thought of it.

We stayed at the resort. Food was okay but pricey. They did a pretty good job with cooking the fish we caught — ceviche, sashimi with an avocado lime sauce, and then fish grilled three ways. Because the fish was cut in various sizes, small pieces were slightly over cooked. Served with fresh greens salad with delicious dressing, saffron rice, and veges. Finished with tres leches. As mentioned in other posts, wine list is short and expensive. But service was good.

Over priced food with bad service. The food was good, just really expensive $ 150 for app, two meals(steak and seafood paella) and the cheapest wine then had. What was even more frustrating was I asked for a wine list, the waiter said he didnt have all the wine but asked what wine I liked. I said dry reds, he brought over 4 different bottles, all of which were $ 100 or more a bottle. I asked if he had a couple different cheaper ones, he said no. Then I asked to see the wine cellar and yep, there were the cheaper bottles of wine. I expect to get the run around in Mexico but not from our own resort restaurant. Dont eat here and for that matter stay somewhere else, the Welk resort is nice but you have to take a taxi everywhere unless you want to cook or pay ridiculous prices at this restaurant.

5 stars for the amazing service. Salvador is an amazing manager & made my mom’s birthday unforgettable w/complimentary tequila shots, birthday cake, & amazing service. The food is good. We ate here for several meals(breakfast, lunch, & dinner). I recommend the paella, which had a lot of fresh seafood. The service is what really won me over! They also have live music Wednesday, Friday, & Saturday.

We stayed at the resort and ate several meals here. Great service! Great music on Fri and Sat. The food was fine. Not great not bad. Last night my fresh from the ocean Sea Bass was very good and everything is nicely presented. I would return.

While the Sirena del Mar Resort is top notch, their restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Very much overpriced. My boyfriend and I had lunch here, which turned out to be ~ $ 80USD. Quality of food is very basic. We had brunch here on our last day($ 20/person) and ended up getting food poisoning(we think it was the fajitas, which were left uncovered on the buffet line). One thing I do appreciate about this restaurant, however, is their impeccable service.

Were staying at the beautiful Sirena Del Mar and this is the only restaurant option here, let alone nearby. Great thing is, the service is fantastic and the food is good. It’s a bit pricey but what can you really expect from a resort restaurant. I had the shrimp street tacos, some of the best tortillas ive ever had.
