I took a domestic flight once with Firefly Airlines and departed at the Subang terminal. Open carpark is available but you’ll have to cross the overhead bridge to get to the airport as the carpark is on the opposite side of the road. Security here isn’t as tight as KLIA and there are plenty of chairs to wait around for your flight. Most flights use the web check in now with machines placed around the area. The shop selection here is small compared to the bigger airports like KLIA and KLIA2 so it can get pretty boring. Private planes and smaller jets are also housed here so its interesting to watch these planes in action.

I am not a very good travller as i dislike sitting on an aeroplane feeling all nausea and when the plane starts flying documentaries of aeroplane keeps on repeating on my mind. Unfortunately, i came here twice for work — one is travelling and one using the location. I was at Subang Skypark when the morning hits 7am for an event waiting for the flight of the VVIP’s for Fifa World Trophy Tour press conference and we were setting up, decorating coca cola around the press conference room, backdrop, que ropes and registration and many more. It was quite cool going in to a space where there were no aeroplanes, i think it was a private space. As the timing was near, we had rehearsal with the dancers and usherers before the flight and as always had briefing. Minutes later, the aeroplane arrived and we were so amazed with the private aeroplane with big huge sticker on it — Fifa World Trophy Tour. The VVIP walked straight right after touchdown for immigration and police was all standby in case anything happen with the gold trophy. They revealed the trophy and to make sure media does not cover up the VVIP, we put on que ropes. It was a good experience for me to oversee and control this big situation. Another time i was here was coming back from Johor Bahru for work and it was the very first time i touch down at this airport reminds me of the old LCCT where you need to walk in narrow pathway and up the stairs and there goes the entrance. The airport looks quite old and they did not take care of the bags properly, we waited long for our bags! All in all, this is the nearest airport near KL and aeroplanes like Malindo, FireFly are all stationed here.

I have flied with Firefly, but is before it moved to Subang SkyPark Terminal. So, I never take any flight from Subang Skypark Terminal before, yet having different experience there. I still remember I went to Subang Skypark Terminal myself by RapidKL. Seriously, that was a very great journey. My purpose going to Subang Skypark Terminal was to pick up my parcel at the Subang warehouse(which the agent told me is at Subang Airport). That was my very first time going there and learned that this airport is bigger than I though it is. Well, an airport before KLIA, LCCT and KLIA2, for sure, won’t be too bad, isn’t it? The transportation to Subang Skypark Terminal, to be honest, I think it is more convenient and cheaper than I go to KLIA or KLIA2. Why? At least you can pay for RapidKL to reach, plus LRT, actually it cost me less than RM5. But to KLIA or KLIA2, bus fare is RM10 or KLIA Express would need RM28. Huh?! Isn’t going to Subang Skypark Terminal is cheapest? Back to my picking up parcel experience, I went to information center and the staff politely told me that the warehouse isn’t inside airport itself. It is somewhere further and if I want to walk there, it is insanely far. So, I asked for taxi but she told me the distance is too short for the taxi to go. OMG! That wasn’t a good news to me. But I ended up not picking my parcel and have a short tour at Subang Airport. At a glance, Subang Skypark Terminal is a great airport, in my opinion. The crew at information counter is friendly and able to solve my problem. Next time, if you are going to Subang Skypark Terminal, don’t forget to check out RapidKL. Save your money and shop more in your trip.

I’ve been here very often when I was a child, picking up my mom with my dad. My mom used to work here. This is the oldest and the most essential airport in Malaysia before KLIA, LCCT and KLIA2 have built-in. Till today, this airport still carry on serving domestic flight and some international flight to neighbour countries. Although this airport is still well-maintained but most of the peoples will prefer KLIA or KLIA2 now due to more variety of restaurants, café, brands in duty free and facilities there are more convenient. I would say some peoples who are still prefer this airport is because it’s the nearest airport to town. It’s also very convenient to grab a taxi here.

Since I’m currently staying at Shah Alam and oftenly flew to my hometown, Kota Bharu, this airport is the most visited one. Just 30 minutes from my apartment, and it seems to stay as one of my favorite airport here in Malaysia. KLIA is way… way…way far from here. Not many planes are here. Normally it’s just for the domestic flights. International flights are also available but mostly to several closest region to Malaysia only. Skypark also the main airport for the private planes owner. It may not as big the KLIA or the KLIA2 but I just loves seeing one of the oldest airport in Malaysia still in care and well maintained.
