One of the places in Subang to get my cake fix. They are amazing! My favourite so far is the peanut butter and the red velvet one. Or I’ll just ask the barista for a recommendation. No angry moments towards the cakes so far. :D I’m not a fan of coffee so I can’t comment on the drinks. I usually just skip them since they don’t have a wide selection of drinks like other cafés do. Love the parking area. It’s free every day! If you want a place to work on weekdays, this is the spot. And I like how convenient this place is. Hungry? Head to Food Industrie next door for salted egg fried rice. Want a haircut? Cut Studio is connected to the café on the first floor. Not to mention a dance studio as well. If you’re looking for an event space, I think this café is quite suitable for small gatherings. If it’s for a bigger crowd, the full glass lobby next door is open for rent. I’ve seen many weddings and dinners held there before.

— Attended 2nd Unilocal event! Was fantastic! — Location and parking: 9⁄10. Middle of nowhere with a lot of parking even on weekdays. — Temperature: Fan at full blast, be sure to wear something warm. — Tables: Small wooden/metal. Not many power outlets. 7⁄10 for working, it’s even more difficult to work in groups. Not many power outlets. Like, very few to almost non-existent. — Space: semi-spacious. The toilets are separated but awesome. — Whole set up: Friggin awesome. Giant glass planes. Large tall building. All blackish. Really cool. 9.9÷10. — Customers: Young, laptop hugging crowd. — Flat White: 6.5÷10. It was quite bitter, slightly acidic, but had a smooth creamy texture. Can tell that the blend is coarse, tho good for those who like the strong coffee taste. — Why 4 stars? BECAUSETHERE’S PARKINGON A WEEKDAY! And restaurant next door that is famous for salt egg something, pretty cheap as well from what I gather. — There is water. There are cups. WiFi is good.

City Harvest Church had always been known for the big scale auditorium and also its design which uses a lot of bricks and also that’s why you see a lot of people will decide to have their wedding at this venue. Greyskymorning is for sure an addition to the Ex8 compound family and for sure a great addition. Not just another overrated hipster café, Greyskymorning(GSM) actually made sure each details of the café is delicately taken care of. I happen to know one of the barista here and as expected, they did train the barista on duty properly before they are to serve you. Coffee beans have been picked carefully, crafting GSM’s very own image and kind of brew. Another thing I like about the place — apart from the place itself which is filled with beautiful deco, they obviously paid attention to their cakes too! They source their cakes from Rekindle, which you can find their café in SS2, and I have always liked the cakes in Rekindle. So, no complaints at all to find the cakes here, heh! Two of my favs would be their salted caramel and also red velvet cake, try them out for yourself! Overall, a pretty cool place to hang out with friends and catch up.

Hidden within a pocket of factories and warehouses is the EX8 complex, and the location to a place where many coffee-lovers call a second home. Greyskymorning is a two-storey café that caters to all, but is notable for its coffee. They serve a variety of juices, teas, smooches, pastries and cake — but again, the coffee is brilliant. This spot is ideal for food photographers and professional selfie-takers due to its interior decorating and lighting. As compared to the many almost-typical dimly-lit cafes, you will find at this café an abundance of natural sunlight. If you find yourself done with the brilliant coffee fix and feel like something more solid, and perhaps more Asian — you can head next door to EX8’s in-house restaurant, Food Industrie. There’s a healthy variety of meals here. They serve generous portions at affordable prices — a plate of fried rice will cost around RM6. Some of their signature recipes include their Stir-fried Buttermilk Sauce Chicken Rice and their glass noodles. Another must try is their XO Fried Rice — a gastronomic orchestra of Asian flavours that is sure to tantalise your taste buds. A valuable perk and plus-point for this place is that you need not worry about parking — there will be ample space.

Greyskymorning is really one of those places where you just sit down, relax, and just have that cup of coffee that you have yearned for the past hour. Their signature dish will be their red velvet cake, a telltale sign of good bakery. Its light cream compliments the rich, little to no acidic coffee that they serve there, which is a major plus for me. Besides that, their ambience resembles the living room Freddie Mercury might have if he’s still alive, and its flamboyance has attracted more than just a few customers to this place. Of course, you come here for other stuff too, but come on, you’ll be kidding yourself if you are not here for their slices of red velvet cakes.

A good friend of mine always visit this place with her boyfriend. One fine day, she dragged me along, and I was like ‘erggghhh’ a light bulb’. Anyways, she always come back here just for the red velvet cakes. She loves it so much like its a drug. Me? I was a big fan of cakes especially red velvet. I mean I only eat it when either I am on a date or someone feeds me. Anyways, i gave their tea a try, if im not mistaken it was Earl grey and it is really good. To top it of, the ambience is really cozy and it feels like you are in the early 90’s. I really did enjoy that cup of tea even more thanks to the decorations! Yes, I would return, and yes I would bring my date if I have one, since my friend is still craving for more Red Velvet cakes!

Walking in on a Saturday afternoon, first thing I noticed… the airy environment and the high ceilings. If you know me, I am all about high ceilings and lots of sunlight. This obscure joint rocks my boat. Well, so we just wanted to have coffee plus parking was free so why not! It exudes grey and black notes in terms of furnishing and orders have to be made downstairs.(Yup, this place has two glorious floors) So we ordered a flat white and a mint tea and headed upstairs where it is cozy. The flat white drinker likes how the coffee hits her tongue with a jolt and was well paired with the smooth and creamy milk. A tad too much milk if you prefer a stronger taste of coffee. The tea was my favorite, using Gryphon tea bags and it leaves a refreshing taste on the palate. I like! Check it out, it might be your favorite joint soon too! Note: it closes on Mondays.

A bunch of friends and I decided to go for lunch at Food Industrie one day and we had no clue we’d come across Greyskymorning. So after lunch we still had time to kill before heading back to campus we decided to check out Greyskymorning for some dessert. The café itself was really nice and has a rustic feel to it. Their chandelier is like a work of art and totally gorgeous. Red Velvet Cake has always been, hands down my favorite type of cake and I’ve always been on a quest to find the perfect Red Velvet and their red velvet is the best I’ve ever tasted. Most places that serve red velvet make their cake too dense and use regular buttercream frosting instead of cream cheese but nope, Greyskymorning uses actual cream cheese frosting. Even my friend who doesn’t typically like red velvet cake said its really good! We also got a slice of Nutella Banana Chocolate Chip cake and that was also pretty good but the Red Velvet trumps above it all.

Located in the industrial/workshop area of Subang’s SS13 area, Greyskymorning is a uniquely cosy place that’s filled with natural lighting as its walls and roof are all glass. The place is usually pretty quiet and filled with students from the neighbouring Universities. We came hear for a convenient place to get some work done and we were pleased with the coffee and cakes served. The Red Velvet was great and the cheese was just right. If you want something a little more heavier, you can always order main meals from the restaurant right next to it. A must try as recommended by their waiter was their Duck egg fried glass noodles. Overall the ambience here has made me come back quite a number of times again.

Greyskymorning which is actually a little café within the EX8 complex. And let me tell you, the red velvet cake there is really the best I’ve ever had. I’m really not a big fan of anything red velvet but the cake was so moist and the cream cheese didn’t leave that greasy sickly feeling in my mouth. Also, it wasn’t too sweet which suited me just fine :) The hazelnut nutella & banana chocolate chip cake tasted mediocre to me as I didn’t really fancy the texture much. My friends on the other hand, really liked those two cakes. Maybe it’s just me(?) I really loved how the café looked! Great for cosy hangouts with friends. Also loved the fact that the café was decorated with pretty fresh flowers instead of fake ones. Crêpe cakes were also sold here but I didn’t try them out as we were already stuffed from the three slices of cake we ordered. Will probably be back to try that out next time! :)
