The famous Kelantanese Nasi Kak Wook. Simple fiood, curried gulai, and fried chopped chicken. Reasonably priced food. Value for money.

Oh yes Kelantanese food is one of my favourite. It kinda reminded me of Indonesian food back at the Kampung Malang. The dishes there include fried chicken or fish with spicy and delicious sambal and curry paste. When I meant spicy its like 3 x chili hotness. The price is also very reasonable and they are generous with their serving of rice! Their fried chicken is also not so oily compared to those where you can get from either bistros or mamak stores. For those who can’t take spicy food, I would recommend a glass of chilled water by the side for you to chuck it down after tasting their delicious sambal! This humble restaurant is located on the streets of seksyen 13 and parking shouldn’t be a ‘big’ issue!

I am a fan of ‘Nasi Kak Wok’ since I was a high school student. It’s kinda hard to get a packet of Nasi Kak Wok when you’re outside Kelantan because it’s some kind of foods that only serve by a small premise but not now. It turns out to be not just Kelantanese love the Nasi Kak Wok, but some other Malaysians too. One of the franchise of Nasi Kak Wok is opened here in Shah Alam. A place that called as Kedai Nasi JJ. I don’t know why they use another name here but it’s not a huge problem. Nasi Kak Wok is just a simple dish. A packet of rice that serve alongside few pieces of fried chicken, rich and thick curry and sambal paste. It’s just cost us RM4.50 per packet. Well, years ago Nasi Kak Wok wiuld just cost you RM3 per packet. I guess everything is going a bit pricey lately huh? So, for those who wants to have a taste of this hidden treasure of Kelantan, do stop by at Kedai Nasi JJ at TTDI Seksyen 13.
