Unique Seafood

Our host took us here. They are regulars & now I know why. Razor clams, shrimp, local fish, some new delicious vegetable I’ve not had before. There was some chicken & beef for the non-​seafood side of me. It was all great I a little too much thou that was probably out host’s intent. I wish I knew what the cost was as I would certainly come back if I was in the neighborhood.

Every time I come here I am always excited to see the big wall of aquariums filled with a different variety of seafood. Unique Seafood is an high end seafood restaurant which is known for their fresh and great selection of seafood. As you know by now their seafood are mostly so fresh because it was just picked from the aquarium. Their chef are also very skilled and their dish served are always steaming hot, very rich in taste and full flavoured.
If you’re looking for something more unique than the average Chinese dining «dai chao» outlets that you have, you can give this place a try. One note though, the price is on the high side but the food quality and taste is a definite stunner. To visit again when I have the budget!

Unique Seafood is generally not a restaurant that you would visit frequently (by my standards of living lah) as they are considered one of the seafood restaurants that is catered to the higher end of the market segment. In Unique Seafood, you can practically order any fresh/​live mostly air-​flown-​in seafoods such as coral trouts, geoducks, oysters, snow crabs, king crabs, lobsters and many more. Their practice here is that you choose your preferred seafood at their display «aquarium» and then the «captain» will give a range of preparation choices that goes well with the particular «raw material».
That being said, this is definitely not «the» place for cheap eats or budget seafood dinners that you get in places like Kuala Selangor and so forth. However, what they lack in price factor, they make it up with their high quality seafood offerings. Therefore, this is definitely the place for people to celebrate special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, job promotions, company dinners and so on.
I highly recommend this restaurant for those that has a strong love for seafood!

The only time I find myself here is most because there’s a big event or celebration going on. The reason is because it’s not your ordinary go to every day kinda restaurant unless you trees at home do grow money.
Price aside, the food is great. I would say that there are places which could do the same for less but let’s talk about this place for now. Their crab selection is wide and do at least order one of the salted egg or spicy sauce flavored one. They are the most popular dishes that goes around every table.
Staff services isn’t superb but they do get the job done.

Unique Seafood is the restaurant I go to majority of the times when I’m at Citta Mall for dinner. First of all the tofu with chicken is really awesome and so is the fried mantao and chilli crab. The bad thing is, they will try to cheat you if you order fish as they will give you a higher weight and you would be paying for more instead of what you ordered, so you must ask to see how the fish looks like first before you let them cook it and don’t let them used the excuse that they have already cooked it!

Unique Seafood, true to its name, serves all kinds of ‘unique’ seafood. There’s a display of seafood straight ahead when you first enter. There’s all kinds of fish. The price range is very wide since there’s so many kinds.
Be careful though, if you order something, for example fish. Let’s say it costs RM50 for 200g. You should ask them to show you the fish (uncooked) first, or else they might cheat you and maybe when the fish you ordered arrives, it’s not 200g, instead, it’s something like 170g. I got into an argument with them before because I had specifically asked for them to show me the fish before they cooked it. They did not do what I had asked and when the fish came, it did not look like the proper weight it should be.
Their crabs are nice. Make sure to order one! The quality of their seafood is pretty good. Overall, this restaurant serves very good food but be careful to not be cheated by them!
