Uncle Lim acts as a kopitiam here in the lower ground of IPC. I never really saw this place as a usual place to eat, but sometimes you just can’t say no to a couple toasts and a warm white coffee in a cup and saucer. Not to mention the half boiled eggs paired with white pepper and soy sauce. It’s as you expected, the price here are a bit higher than the standard kopitiam prices, because of the location in a mall, but it’s not a problem if you’re prepared for it. They also have other tradisional and local tastes which will definitely bring the Malaysian out in you, even if you’re not from here. One of the best part of the place is also how fast the service can do. On somedays when I’m just that hungry and needs food instantly, this place becomes an option too. The food arrives pretty quickly which makes it good too during lunch hour when it get’s really crowded. Overall, I believe it’s a very nice place to have some local delights during your shopping trip in IPC.

Uncle Lim’s Café is located at the lower ground floor of IPC. The word«homegrown taste» on its signboard tells all. It has the Kopitiam concept that emphasizes in Malaysia’s multiple cultures by keeping the old charm of traditional café, but modernized it to cope into current lifestyle. The design of Uncle Lim’s is very simple with old fashioned furnitures and equipment, in contrast its management applied the modern self-service system, whereas customers have to order, make payment and collect food at the counter. It gives an intimate feel to the customers to enjoy typical local foods even in a modernized shopping mall, but in a more convenient and faster way. Same as other Kopitiam, Uncle Lim’s offer traditional foods such as half-boiled egg with soy sauce and pepper, nasi lemak, roti bakar, asam laksa, curry puff kuay teow soup, and even Western chicken chop, while the bestselling beverage here is its local style kopi(coffee), such as kopi O, kopi C, kopi kaw, kopi pok and cham. I personally love cham(mix coffee and tea) a lot! If you are a foreigner that wish to know more about Malaysia culture, food is always the best thing to try and Uncle Lim’s is definitely a good choice in this case!

A local restaurant located at Ikano Power Center. Generally, it looks same like Old Town, Kluang Station etc. However, price range is lower. The shoplot isn’t too spacious, but it has a lot of dining tables. When I was working at e@Curve, I will come here to take away. And sometimes dine there. The workers here are mostly non-local, however, their service is even better than many other restaurants. They work efficiently and serve customers heartfully. Since break time isn’t long, Uncle Lim’s seems to know this. And, normally I don’t need to wait more than 10 minutes for my order. The food quality are above average, hence, with cheap price, Uncle Lim’s is one of my favorite restaurants in Ikano Power Center. Well, I start missing the old time. Will back for dining.
