The Curve Street Market

This weekend market is at the Curve right in front of the many restaurants at The Street area. Basically it’s right in front of Friday’s and The Apartment, among others. I’ve been here a couple of times and found it to be alright but for a street market it’s on the smallish side. There are vendors selling mostly clothes and accessories and sometimes there are fruit stalls selling strawberries.
I have bought sundresses here for my daughter (at about RM10 each) as well as some cute-​sy hair accessories. They have phone covers too but that stall was jam-​packed the two times I tried to look at their merchandise that I just gave up and bought a cover elsewhere.
If you go after about 11am, expect it to be super hot and humid so if you are bringing kids you probably won’t be able to browse long before they start complaining about the heat and that they are thirsty and how long are you going to be there for (I’m speaking from experience here!).
One thing I do need to share: I have been warned by a few friends to be careful of my bag and wallet while here as there have been cases of pickpockets taking advantage of people who are distracted. So my advise would be to always be on guard. On weekends The Curve is packed like sardines anyway and this marketplace is no exception. Also, don’t buy something immediately from the first stall you go to. There may be better bargains further along the market.

Most of the time happens on a weekend but oddly I remember one Friday they had it though. Anyways, it is a good street market. There are really many types of stores that sells niche stuffs. From hats, caps to watches and small miniature figurines like Poke’mon. I do advise you guys to wear a hat if its hot when you are walking around the market!
Beware though during weekends especially after lunch and before dinner the walkway surrounding the market is extremely packed, so becareful of your belongings as one of my friend did lose her phone from her pocket! Also, if you guys are hungry, both walkways are smacked between rows and rows of café and restaurants!
So, if guys are looking for a gift or present, the market really have interesting stuff. Sometimes things you couldn’t even imagine exists!

The curve street market is a place to hit up to get some cheap stuff. I like how it’s decorated. There’s a vast variety of restaurants to choose to have dinner or lunch. It’s a good place to buy some cheap clothes and accessories. They even have some cheap bikinis under 50rm.
I would go there just to buy some cheap summer clothes. It doesn’t exactly open till late so make sure you catch it during the day.

If you are ever in The Curve over the weekends, you’ll notice a long stretch of stalls at their open space area — The Street. This is their weekly bazaar, which only available on Saturdays and Sundays. Unlike your usual bazaar, there are no food stalls but you can easily grab a bite from the restaurants at both sides.
I did not count the amount of the vendors at the bazaar, but the stretch started from Sakae Sushi all the way to Laundry Bar. You’ll be able to find stalls selling clothing, shoes, bags, swim wears, phone accessories, crafts and many more.
I tried to shop at The Street many times, but the place will get very crowded and I’ll always have to squeeze my way through. I don’t have much patience, so I always give up halfway. Although some of the pricing can be slightly higher, but you can still obtain cheap and reasonable price if you search hard enough.
When the festive seasons are near, such as Christmas, they stalls will be operating on daily basis. This is a perfect time if you want to look for something unique. If you have nothing to do, why not drop by The Curve and check out the vendors. You’ll never know what you’ll discover.

The Curve Street Market, a.k.a The Street. It is a street market which only opens in the weekends. Basically, it is similar to the night market we have been going to. The only difference is it opens from 10am to 10pm. And there is no food stall at The Street. If you want food, two sides of The Street are restaurant and cafes. You can have your meal there.
The Street is always crowded because it sells thing that retails shop doesn’t sell. You can find cheaper clothes, shoes and accessories there. Is the salesperson nice? It depends. Because every stall is owned by different persons. Thus, I couldn’t tell exactly who is good and who isn’t. Somemore, I noticed the stall has no fixed place to set their booth. It also depends which dealer come first, and you start setting up your stall there. Thus, sometimes, I find it difficult to find the stall when I return for another round shopping the next week.
There is also exceptional that The Street will opens daily in a month. Normally, it will be December every year because that is the Christmas month. Everyone will do shopping for gift exchange. If you never been to The Street, maybe this year, you can come over in December to get your presents. At a glance, The Street is the place that you are able to find a lot of cute stuffs for yourself and also others. Well, I just bought few items last Saturday there and all were very cheap.
